How on Earth did the free world come together and decide to award something as uniting and powerful as the Olympics on a country that is in no way deserving of them on many points? It is shameful and the nations who are giving this a free pass should be throughly ashamed and disgusted with themselves

Wow, Tibbles. I'm using my phone right now so I can't go into details about how much of a fool you just made yourself out to be. As well as only partially educated from obviously one point of view. You seem to think that, if not a communist, than a socialist state is a better one to live in. If you ACTUALLY think that the US is worse than China I'm not sure how to prove to you that you are wrong right now. I hope my friends can reply while I'm gone.

Have you been to China? Have you seen it in person? Or have you only listened to news reports about it? That is the big difference, really, the big difference. Western media do not represent China as it is today, they represent it as it was decades ago. A different time, and a different country. What you hear about China in the news programs here do NOT represent their country or government as a whole, in any way. Just as our media is significantly one-sided about most things.

If we believe our media coverage of international matters, any international matters, than we are seeing only a very filtered view of reality. Sadly.
