The story:
Okay, so I'm going to the International Juggler's Association(IJA) convention this summer and Jim from the Texas Juggling Society(TJS) is going to be driving me there. Because Jim is pretty much the head of the TJS he got volunteered to help Alan Plotkin(the merchandising director of the IJA) go through boxes of old back issues of the IJA's Juggle magazine and close up the boxes to get them ready for shipping to a cheaper storage place in California. These magazines were being stored at a Public Storage place in North Austin. So, as payment for my ride Jim wanted me to help him do this, Travis came along to get NHS community service hours and then Nathan Peterson came to help out too. When we get to the storage unit Alan opened it up and said, "You can each take one of everything, magazines and dvds." So we were pretty excited, there were Juggle magazines dating back to the 70s and IJA convention videos as far back as 1987. It was a lot of work and heavy lifting - boxes filled with magazines weigh a lot - but it was fun to just hang out with a bunch of juggling people and come away with a box full of juggling loot. Then we ate some burgers for lunch which Alan wrote off as "miscellaneous packing expenses" so the bill goes to the IJA.
