Lost and Found

Visiting Seattle is like a pilgrimage to me. Every time I have come to this city, I always leave a changed man. This ritual has even happened even before I met any of my online friends in this fair city. Is there some specific purpose to Seattle, or is it just a random place you go when you need to think? That sounds like a really good idea, actually...random pilgrimages to think and muse upon oneself. I have been considering similar for a long time, but it seems more real to think of/read of others doing the same thing.

That icon is gold, by the way. =^^=

I have friends in Seattle... very close friends. :) But it's had the same effect on me since before they moved to Seattle. :) So it's sort of my special place. ^^

And I'm glad you like the icon! :D

Go For It gildedphoenix February 5 2006, 20:58:12 UTC
Bro,

Sounds like you know what the right path is (and it's one that you've been talking about for a long time), so Go for it!! You can always come back but if you wait forever to try and move you'll just get more and more entrenched here and end up never trying. Besides, if you move, I'll be joining you in about a year so you won't be alone (and you can prove to me that it can be done:))

So as much as I'd miss you, as your sis, I think if it's what you want, Go For It.

At the very least, a trip is a nice change of perspective. When you distance yourself from something you see it in a different light and have better empirical evidence to the analyze it. Whatever you choose to do, I hope that you enjoy the ride, and also remember that some of the best successes are disguised as temporary failures (ie, not finding a sushi restaurant and eventually finding a really really great dimsum special.) ;)

It is so very true. Though it violates the moral of the story of Candide, as you said, things always work out for the best in the end.

As always, backing you up 100%, and crossing my fingers to the possibility that you will join us at Nintendoland. :>
