Looking Back at Aught Nine; Looking Forward to One Oh

Per the annual tradition, I returned to "home home" to my birthland in the great state of Ohio for Christmas. And Christmas this year was... different for many reasons, the least of which was me getting "stuck" in an airport for a full day. However by no means was Christmas bad; in fact, it was a rather excellent Christmas for many a good reason ( Read more... )

Glad that you seem to be finding yourself already on a path you're quite satisfied with, there!

As to your goals, of your stack of games I'm only familiar with Chrono Cross to which I say "go for it!" Also to Harry Potter, though less imperative since you seem to have read them all at least once (always good for a retread anyway). ;D

Chrono Cross is a picky one where, having consulted the GameFAQ for it once, it's one where -- to properly get every possible character ever -- you need to have the GameFAQ sitting next to you as you play through the entire game. I have yet to determine whether this is worth my patience in doing or if I should just play through it, not worry about "100%'ing" it, and move on!

It's true, Chrono Cross is the only game I tolerate that aspect of for some reason. While it's a great game, I do admit it's confusing sometimes. In any case, yeah, you have to play through it at least three times to get everyone anyway, so I honestly wouldn't sweat it if what you're trying to do is just finish it the first time---just enjoy yourself. XD

Glad you had a good Christmas! :D I really need to follow suit with your second resolution! I have so many games that I've bought and haven't had time to play yet :(. And I really admire your fourth resolution! Good for you! I hope you achieve it multiple times and that 2010 is another good year for you :D.

I'm glad the Stack of Unplayed Videogames isn't just a problem on my end!! Well, it's sad to see any videogame that remains unplayed, but I'm glad I'm not just an absolute freak. :)

Ahhh, too many RPGs and strategy games in the stack. I'm in the same boat. X) That, and I've been spending a lot of time on Team Fortress 2. It's gotten to where I can realistically expect to get all of the game's achievements, albeit still a long ways from now for certain grind-fest ones. I've already cleaned out all the Sniper achievements. BTW, where did you get Apollo Justice? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. :/

I think the question is more WHEN I got Apollo Justice since that was a purchase quite some time ago. However, I shall forward you this Amazon link with which you can feasibly obtain a copy. :)

However, yes, lots of RPGs. Strategy games are a little less intimidating (especially since I'll likely give up on Fire Emblem halfway into it, which is what happened with the "original" Fire Emblem), although Valkyria Chronicles is a game where you pretty much have to dedicate a solid hour block plus to get through each mission since it involves so much thinking. (And honestly, VC is so much better than FE any day of the week.)
