[events] SMASH! 2012 Report

Jul 15, 2012 23:49

First thing first, happy birthday to rachel_reicheru! Hope you had a great day today! ♥

Yesterday was awesome! I arrived at Darling Harbour at 9 am and only spent half an hour in line (way better than last year's one and half an hour), then ended up meeting a fellow Indonesian (who was also alone). :D

It was a LOT of people inside, vendors were swarmed and so many pretty merchandises were on display. Got these two KuroBasu bookmarks 5 minutes after I got into the venue. xD

After karaoke heats, we then decided to go to Tange Sakura's panel. She did a few scenes from CCS, that brought so much childhood memories back when I was still an innocent kid who didn't realise the Touya/Yukito love! After that was Miyamura Yuko's voice acting workshop, where some of the fans were coached by her on the stage. All of them did really well, imo. At least you didn't hear any obvious accent. xD

And finally, it's time for MikiShin's panel! I couldn't take any photos or videos because it was forbidden, sob.

HE. LOOKED. FABULOUS.

He was wearing a black suit (kind of laced?) and motif dress shirt. AND SUNGLASSES. Why did he wear sunglasses indoor wwwwwwwwww
After that, as usual he did some live dub for Gundam 00, FMA, Bleach and uh, one anime I couldn't remember orz;;
Brb bawling at his FMA dub. They selected the scene where Roy stands in front of Hughes' grave and I (not only me, definitely) just lost it. His choked-crying voice was just... way more heart-breaking than one in the anime. FMA FEELS. ;_____;

The last dub was Gundam 00, where Lyle was battling with Anew and the latter get killed by Setsuna? (Sorry if I'm wrong; haven't watch that one yet orz) He was like, これハードル高すぎじゃない? xDDDD

After the dub, it's the time for questions from fans:

Is this your first time in Australia?
- No, this is my second time, actually. This New Year, I came to Sydney for around ten days.

Like how Uruhara likes to invent things, what is your hobby/favorite things to do in your past time?
- Hmm... Motor sports? Though my driving skill is nothing to brag about, I like to drive in a race car (laughs).

You have done a lot of dubbing in anime, game, drama and CDs. Which (of those types) do you think is more challenging?
- I think they are all challenging, and there is no one easier type or more difficult type.

When you were acting for different roles, is there any gap between the characters you need to overcome?
- How to say... If I am acting for Roy, then I am Roy. If I am acting for Lyle, then I am Lyle. It is like in front of the mic, I am not Miki anymore; I am the character himself.

Is there any tricks you are using to help you get in character?
- For every character I voiced, they are always there within me. So when it is time to act out this one character, it will just come out and taking over 'Miki'. I also try to absorb the environment, the world the character is living in to make it all more realistic.

And then THE question that got all us fangirls screaming:

You have voiced in BL, or yaoi, before. What does it feel like?
Miki: Um. Do I really have to answer this? (laughs)
MC: Is there any BL fans of Miki out there?

*90% of female in the auditorium shouted and raised hands*

MC: Whoa! Then, who has, in last 24 hours, watched or played games with him inside??

*half of the females raised hands*
Me included LOLOLOL.

Miki: Whoa, I never thought there are this many BL fans here! シドニー凄いな!
MC: I think it is because in here, it is not so much of a taboo compared to Japan? They are all very open fangirls here, lol.
Miki: Yes, I can see. Maybe I will do more and more BL exclusively in Sydney (laughs).
Fangirls: YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS PLEAAAAASEEEE!

I love his panel the most out of the three. xDD

After the end of his panel, we went to grab some lunch before going to his signing. Because she is not that much of a fan of MikiShin, we went separate ways after lunch and I went straight to his signing room. Even though it was 40 minutes before the assigned time, the line was already quite long. I was lining for almost two hours to get him sign on my BWS case, lol.

The only thing that disappointed me is just one line before my turn, the staff told us there wouldn't be anymore personalised signing, meaning no more signing and writing your name. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. *flips table*

Then my turn came and I was nervous like hell wwwwwww.
Miki: こんにちは。
Me: こっこんにちは!
Miki: ブラックヲルフスサガ? これげーむですよね。
Me: はい。
Miki: ありがとうね! Thank you!
Me: どうもありがとうございます!

I wanted to tell him to do his best from now on but my brain couldn't work properly at that moment asdfghjkl;
That and I regretted not wearing gloves when he was shaking my hands. Couldn't bring myself to wash the hand, sob. *shot*

I think I saw some fans carrying BL doujinshi to have him sign on, and he was like LMAOWUT. Poor Miki. xDD

All in all, this year was pretty amazing, with three guest seiyuus coming and lots of events. The lack of KuroBasu cosplayers was heart-breaking, though. I guess it is not as popular in Australia? :(

series: kuroko no basuke, seiyuu, events
