i resigned from my job. maybe i acted a little rash but everything about it was finally getting to me. the rotational shift work, monotony, unbearable ennui and most importantly my overall shift in mentality

you should try temping/temporary agencies. you get a variety of work places/enviornments and it's everchanging... as long as you find a good one. :)
