Does the government's $250 fee for uni students from July next year seem like compulsory unionism to you?

Yep. Strangely like compulsory unionism, which the previous government got rid of (in favour of voluntary unionism (VSU)).

I haven't heard anything about it- what's the fee supposed to represent? What's the point?

Haha, funny you asked, it's supposed to help fund student services and amenities.

It's just compulsory unionism! (which I am NOT against)

What also doesn't help is the cost of TAFE going up to about $2500 a year by 2010...

Fucking state government. Skills shortage I hear you say?!
