Hey all!
So, I know that I am in no way innocent in the paucity of content on my LJ and DW feeds. I have been busy, yes--but I'm always busy. It's pretty clear, though, that fandom has been migrating again, this time to tumblr, and that this means that there are fewer fannish posts here on the more text-based journaling sites.
And I like tumblr! I do! I have one, but I use it mainly for following and reading (and looking at) fave tumblrs, like
wheninacademia, or
communitygifs. I know that people manage to have conversations there, but it's incredibly painful. It's just not built for it. I know that there are hacks and stuff, but in my mind, tumblr is best when it's used for what it was designed to do: share the pretty visuals.
And I just don't communicate in visuals. I like them. I'll talk about them for hours (and possibly even publish papers about them), but I don't really talk with them. That's what LJ and DW are for. And guys, I miss conversation. :(
SO! I figured I should step up and be the change, and start a friending meme for those of us who specifically want to remain on LJ or DW and continue to have fannish conversations here. Again, no tumblr-bashing! I like tumblr! I just don't use it to connect to people. That's not my mode.
If it's not your mode either, come on and post here. Maybe we'll find some new friends to stay on LJ & DW with.
Just C&P some basic demographic info into a comment, and find some friends!
1. name
2. age(ish)
3. primary fandoms
4. other stuff you're into, but maybe don't blog about (unless you find more people who'd want to hear about it)
5. non-fannish interests?
6. my journal reads like...
7. f-list turnoffs
Feel free to signal boost!
