Dear Yuletide Author

Oct 23, 2014 12:53

Hello, and welcome to my Yuletide letter! First, as always, let me thank you, dear author, for being willing to write something for me. If I am a fan of anything, I am a fan of Yuletide. Thank you for participating.

I'm mostly just going to cut-and-paste my request text here.

Archer
Sterling Archer Lana Kane
Summary
My husband and I started watching Archer voraciously this past year, and I adore it. I especially adore Lana, and while I do ship her with Archer, it is only because of how their banter just *works* even though he's a meathead most of the time. Though I love how competent he is when it comes to actual spywork.

Anyway, I love them both, but I love Lana most, and what I love MOSTEST OF ALL is how kickass she was as a pregnant operative. It reminds me of Sydney Bristow being a kickass pregnant operative (and a crossover here would make me super-duper happy if it appeals to you, dear author). I would love a story set in season 5 wherein Lana Kane is pregnant and AWESOME and competent, and outperforms Archer.

Clash of Clans
Barbarian King (Clash of Clans) Archer Queen (Clash of Clans) Witch (Clash of Clans) Hog Rider (Clash of Clans)
Summary
Clash of Clans is my new obsession. It's a app-based flash game that I play on my tablet, and it's loads of fun. It also has some really fun trailers and commercials.

...and a live-action fan film trailer (I think)

that just screams for narrative treatment. I chose the Archer Queen, Barbarian King, hog riders and witches for characters, but I'm also just really fond of the fact that so many of the troops are female. Archer (best cheap troop), pekkas (armored tanks), Valkyries, as well as the Queen and witches, are all female. There's story to be pulled out of there. I know, I wrote Angry Birds fic for Yuletide once. :D

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Lawrence Jamieson Janet Colgate Freddy Benson
Summary
This is another movie I've adored since it was in theaters (cf The Princess Bride), and that I've rewatched recently. I adore how sexism is subverted in this film. Seems that's kind of a theme for me this year. Who am I kidding--every year.

I would love a post-movie story here, about one of the cons or heists that this trio hatches once they've come together as a team. For comparison, I'm a big Leverage fan. Something about how they come together as a family with a great plotty con would really hit the spot.
