Dear Yuletide writer

Oct 25, 2015 18:45

Thank you so much for coming to check out my letter! A few things worth knowing about me can probably be gleaned from poking through my previous Yuletide letters. Just know that I am beyond pleased that we've matched on one of these delightful fandoms and I'm looking forward to seeing what you will write.

iZombie: Liv, Ravi, Blaine.
Optional details are optional, and you absolutely don't have to do this, but I started watching iZombie because of its Veronica Mars DNA, and I would absolutely, positively adore a crossover here. If not with VM, then maybe with Alias or Once Upon a Time? Because David Anders is always an excellent bad guy, but it's pretty much always the same excellent bad guy. :D

Also, I just love Ravi.

If not a crossover, I'd love a closer look at the issue of the zombie cure being used on Blaine while Ravi and Liv try to figure out a way to make more. I'd love some more soul searching on the choice to use it on Blaine (rather than killing him). And I'd love to know what's going on in Blaine's head right now? Is he happy about being human again? I suspect not.

Great British Bake Off RPF: Mel and Sue
I adore the Great British Bake Off, have done since I started watching it last season. By far my favorite part is the relationship between Mel and Sue (and, beyond that, it's just Sue.) It's obvious they've known each other and worked together for decades, and they're just adorable. I don't ship them (probably because I'd get jealous...) but I adore their friendship. One of the funniest things in season 5 was Mel chasing Sue around the tents trying to get a taste of chocolate mousse.

Some background vignettes of their banter behind the scenes as well as in front of the cameras would be delightful.

Twin Peaks: Audrey
I never watched Twin Peaks in 1990. I should have; I was 15 years old and it was right up my alley. But I had a strict mother who disapproved of dark narratives. When I finally got around to watching the series this year when Netflix made it available, there was a lot about it that I enjoyed (especially the soundtrack, which I owned on cassette and wore out with use, even thought I never watched the show). However, things that I'm sure wouldn't have bothered me at 15 rubbed me wrong at 40. Most of it was feminist resentment. Much of it was the moral essentialism. In the end, the thing I would most like to see rewritten is Audrey's end. I want a narrative that treats her sexual curiosity as natural, not dangerous. I want a narrative that doesn't kill her off as soon as she begins to enjoy herself. I want her to grow up and get free of the toxicity of her father and of Twin Peaks in general. I want a happy ending for Audrey.
