Just found this to be an interesting article. It brings up a great point. What is funny vs offensive. Often times, it seems like the lines overlap in strange ways. I was telling Cal the other day about a conversation I had with Jamie when she was at American about how dumb 'PC' can be. The convo had to do with "trans-gendered" children. Anyway... I always run into the problem with male students ... when is something "fashion" vs. a "gang statement"? With white males, the parents usually just buy him more/different clothes. But black or latino parents may be insulted that their kid's fancy duds are controversial. And the girls ... well, how do kindly break it to someone that dressing like a "ho" isn't school appropriate?

And at Mullen people got detention for not tucking shirts in!
