A few months ago I posted this as a movie I wanted to see.

Well, since it's not real. This is the one I really want to see. I'd even consider going on opening day.

I hope they really can pull it off and make it a good story. The original was a lot deeper than people give it credit for, if you watch it and think. I hope this one isn't just some ( Read more... )

Yep. I saw that as well.

If all it is is a "son seeking father" story I'll be disappointed.

I actually think the new movie looks really good. (At least visually) the story I'm not sold on yet, but I really like the way they updated the designs without really changing them that much. I actually grew up with the first movie, and really loved it a lot. I think I was like 4 or 5 the first time I saw it, and I watched it frequently up until I was around 15. (Also, random note, I think the only reason I liked the series ReBoot as a kid, was cause of its similarities to Tron)

But yeah, besides the look of the movie, the other things that excite me are that the director of the first film was brought on as kind of an overseer, and is being given a producer credit, they got both Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner back, and Daft Punk was brought on to compose the entire soundtrack. (Which, even if the movie sucks, I am definitely buying the soundtrack)

I have to say that I... haven't seen Tron as of recent. Though I do like how it looks updated and "new age" for this era.

I also give plusses for getting Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleintner.. but they also shoulda snagged the baddie too... David Warner wher'es the love for David Warner?1
