The doors were locked. The windows barred shut. Walls that seemed to have been able to crack stood fully against any sort of pressure. It was like the entire building was mocking him.
Nevaeh was used to cages. Used to being confined to rooms. Back in his home he would spend hours holed up in his bedroom or locked in the study. Hours of detention at school or a night inside a juvenile detention hall. No matter the consequences of his actions Nevaeh was always to be caged down. So he was not afraid.
This place. Forever and a day it seemed he had been in here already. Without as much as a bed or proper food. It annoyed him. Was this some trick played by the other boys? How dare they. He would beat them and steal their things when he left this place.
A wooden item and some note that reminded him of death.
What could it all mean.
Nevaeh wanted out of his cage now. To frolic with the underworld again. Let the demon out. Let him out. Let him out...
He walked the halls and shivered at how cold his surroundings seemed. Tugging his sweaters closer to his body he then paused to look down a long hallway. The moon shone light through a crack in one of the windows. Sadly, much to high for him to reach and break open. Besides, this was the top floor. If he wanted to smash that window and jump, it would only spell death.
No death for the demon. Not yet. The demon had yet to meet with the hero of the story. Jesus. Achilles. Jason.
Nevaeh moved to the wall and leaned his back against it. Slowly he slide down into a sitting position and huffed.
