Previous Chapter.

Jin is still there when Ryo's alarm goes off that morning telling him to get ready for work. After turning it off he returns to the kitchen where Jin is still seated by the table and where Ohkura is still keeping an eye on him. He can't believe he only got to sleep about two hours last night thanks to Jin, the only thing he's grateful for is that Jin eagerly agreed to help him cover up whenever needed. Though at the moment he's kind of back to getting on his nerves again. Ryo sits down and before his butt hit the seat Ohkura's soft hair is back under his touch.

“Okay, just one more question.” Jin looks like a kid given a lot of candy, still begging for more and Ryo is already tired of answering his friends’ questions, mostly because he can't answer most of them and that just makes him all that more frustrated.

“Jin, you've been going at this for hours already, the coffee is gone and you still have more questions?” Good thing Ohkura's head is nuzzling into his lap because Ryo isn't sure he would be able to keep calm without him there.

“Well, it's kind of unusual for things like this to happen so I'm merely reacting to the situation. I'm sorry to tell you, but it's kind of interesting.” Interesting? That's what Jin decides to call it. Ohkura acts like a fucking dog and Jin finds it interesting, well whoopee-do!

“This is serious, what if he never returns to normal again!?” He can't help but half screaming. This situation might seem funny, but it's fucking bad when someone doesn't know their human.

“I know that! But honestly Ryo. From what you've told me, you haven't really tried all that hard to make him normal again yourself. Now have you?” This baffles Ryo and at once he gets defensive.

“What do you mean? I've done what I've could, but there's not exactly a manual that tells you what to do in a situation like this. I've tried to think of solutions, but what am I supposed to do? Huh? Do you know what to do? Because if you do, then please Jin, please tell me how to fix this, I'm all ears for suggestions.” Feeling himself getting heated up Ryo still can't help to get angry about what Jin just said. Is he really suggesting that Ryo does not want Ohkura back to normal? Because if he does, Ryo just might have to beat the crap out of the man that still looks like he wants more candy.

“Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's like in the fairy tales?” This was not really what Ryo had expected from Jin right after he had blown up and yelled at him like that. The fellow was actually coming up with a suggestion. Or at least it seems like he his, and Ryo's rage is slowly backing away, though not completely gone yet as he decides to listen to what his friend has to say.

“What do you mean like in the fairytale?” Not having a clue where this is going he just relaxes back in his chair.

“You know... Like, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty-” Ryo has to interrupt while Jin sits there counting children stories on his fingers for some unknown reason.

“I know what a fairytale is. What are you trying to say? Just get to the point already.” Patience is not one of his virtues, and besides he has work to get ready for soon.

“Maybe the frog needs a princess. Well, something like that.” Ryo is a little lost, since when did Jin start to speak in riddles anyway. He frowns and Jin just rolls his eyes and tries to explain to him again.

“It always works in the classics, though it's not a frog in this case. More like the dog needs his idol.” That stupid grin again. But for what might just be the first time, Ryo feels like the stupid one amongst the two, having no idea what this has anything to do with Ohkura returning back to his old self again. Jin sighs and then shocks the daylight out of Ryo with his next words.

“I'm saying you should kiss him! Ryo-chan can really be dense sometimes.” Of all stupid things Jin has uttered this is definitely in the top ten and Ryo is positive that he must have fallen asleep while his friend was talking and now he was dreaming weird things. Maybe that's why his reaction is so small. All he does is laugh lightly.

“That was a good one.” Scratching his eye his smile fades away as he can see Jin looking at him with a rarely sighted stern expression.

“I'm being serious. I think it might work. You should stand up for your friend. Just be the prince and kiss him already.” The scariest part is how serious Jin seems and for some reason Ryo's heart is starting to go doki doki.

“That's so stupid, I'm not going to kiss Ohkura just because you've read too many stories, there's no way in hell something like that would work.” Ryo gets up from his seat and takes Jin's not yet empty mug of coffee not hearing the complaint when he puts it in the sink.

“It's time for work. I need to get ready, so you might as well leave before me.” Jin is successfully cut off and at least Ryo got him to complain about having to leave alone instead of rambling on about that nonsense.

“But we're going to the same place, we might as well go together.” Ryo suppose it won't hurt as long as Jin won't be late. But Ryo figures his friend will more likely be earlier than usual if he leaves when Ryo usually does, so he just finishes up washing the dishes and then heads towards the bathroom.

“Fine, do as you please. I'm just gonna take a shower.” At first Jin smiles but when Ryo is out of the room he realizes that Ohkura who had followed Ryo isn't going with him. So when Ohkura can't go after his master anymore he turns and comes back into the kitchen where Jin still sits by the table. The drummer is glaring at him and Jin's not so sure letting Ryo leave was such a good idea. But before he has a chance to do anything about it he hears the sound of running water from behind the door Ryo just closed and he's left alone with Ohkura.

When Ryo is done he feels a lot better, getting some energy from the water and he has almost forgotten about Jin until he walks out in nothing but a towel around his waist and finds Jin still occupying the chair he had been sitting in for a few hours already. Looking quite stiff Jin slowly moves as he notices Ryo's back in the room.

“Ryo-chan! How much time do you need for a shower! Come help me already!” Ryo can't help but laugh at Jin looking so nervous. All thanks to Ohkura, who has his eyes fixed on Jin, apparently taking his guarding very seriously.

“Tadayoshi! Come here, leave the poor bastard alone.” The change is immediate and Ohkura makes a happy sound half jumping back to Ryo getting up on his back legs, or feet actually, pushing Ryo back a few steps with his weight. Having two hands as well as a good part of Ohkura's upper body while the other is eager makes it very hard for Ryo, who struggles to keep himself from falling as well as keeping the suddenly dangerously loose towel from leaving him.

“I think I just might leave before you anyway Ryo-chan. See you later!” That dickhead. Leaving him just when he could have needed that fat bastard to keep Ohkura occupied for a while, but Jin is out the door with amazing speed for someone so my pace as him. And when Ryo finally gets Ohkura down on all four again Jin is just as missing in the apartment as the towel around his skinny frame.

Well, on the good side at least Jin left before he could see Ryo naked with a man kneeling before him. These situations really line up one after another and he wonders if maybe this is all one big dokkiri. But then Ohkura would be very dedicated to his role and somehow Ryo has a hard time imagining Ohkura hurt his own pride like this for the sake of a joke, being it work related or not.

Then Ohkura starts whining again and Ryo knows what's coming this time. He takes his friend back to the toilet and heaves a sigh of relief that he got out of explaining to Jin how he helps Ohkura with his morning rituals...

Back with News today Ryo is kind of clueless as to exactly what the other members of his Kansai group is up to, and that makes him worry. Because if one thing can be said about the loud bunch of Osakans it is that they care about their fellow members. Now Ohkura has been gone for days without a sound, and except for Ryo's own pity attempts of calming them down, they more or less have no clue about their drummer's whereabouts.

He’s jumpy all they and it seems he has an even harder time to concentrate on News’s activities. Apparently it is worse having no clue about what the other Eito members are up to than having to keep them occupied and keep them away from finding out about Ohkura himself. It might be tiring but at least he knows if anything is up.
The day seems to take forever to end, which is the same for every moment he can’t see Ohkura since he decided to keep it a secret, and when Koyama asks who wants to follow him out and eat Ryo is already on the way to his car. Usually they get picked up for work, but he finds it somewhat more calming to his nerves knowing that he can go home in case of emergency. Though he has no way to know if that would actually happen since there is no way Ohkura can make a phone call when he can’t even take a bath on his own.

When Ryo gets home the usual welcome with jumping and licking awaits him, and he decides to ignore the voice telling him he had looked forward to getting a tongue in his ear when he finally pushes Ohkura away after letting out a rather embarrassing sound. His ears were one of his sensitive spots after all.

He helps Ohkura to finish his business, and then makes them both some food with Ohkura rolled up on close to his feet. It all seems to go so smooth and Ryo can’t help but smile, even singing some to himself as he’s feeling unusually at peace.

After dinner Ryo sits down to watch some movie he has wanted to watch for a while now. But the sleepiness is grabbing hold of him and after a rather stressful day, not to mention how little sleep he actually got the day before it doesn’t take long before he falls asleep on the couch, with Ohkura lying beside him with his head resting on Ryo’s thigh, a place the canine impersonator seems to like a lot.

Much like the night before a weird sound wakes Ryo from his dreams, but this time it’s from the inside of his apartment. It’s a shrill sound he knows he has heard somewhere before. It’s Ohkura. He stumbles on his feet and find Ohkura in front of his bedroom screaming worse than ever before.

“Tadayoshi! What’s wrong?” It was scaring him. He had never seen him like this and though he probably should worry about other’s hearing them he can’t focus on anything but the expression on the other’s face. Not able to think of anything to do but hushing he’s starting to get desperate.

“Please, what’s wrong?” He knows there’s no use, Ohkura can’t understand him, and even if he could Ryo’s not sure it would change anything. It looked like his friend was in a lot of pain and he felt so helpless just sitting there.

No other choice left he decides to call Jin, not the brightest chap around, but he is the only one who knows the truth so at least he doesn't have to lie. It takes a few signals before his friend finally picks up and Ryo is impatiently stomping his foot as he gets even more stressed about Ohkura sounding like he's about to die any second in the background.

“Hello?” Finally he picks up and Ryo can’t help but scream.

“Jin! I need help!” Not caring how desperate or uncool he sounds he just pleads for help in the only way he knows; by demanding it.

“Jeez, you wanna make me deaf?” Not really meant to be to Ryo, it was more as a whisper from the other line, followed by a brief pause and a sigh before Jin spoke again. ”…What, your dog ran away?

“No, but he just keeps on wailing, I don't know what to do!” Glancing to the side watching Ohkura he can’t stand still anymore and goes back to try and pet him in a try to calm him down.

“Maybe he needs to go to the toilet?” Finally Jin seems to take it a little more seriously, at least trying to come up with any logical explanations for this behavior. But Jin didn’t know, he couldn’t see Ohkura. He might be hearing him though, if he didn’t maybe Ryo really did make him deaf because even through the phone the sound of his friend was loud.

“No, I don't think that's it.” It couldn’t be that simple. In worst case Ohkura would just go anyway, though he would be ashamed afterwards.

“Why not?” Somehow the tone in Jin’s voice was making him annoyed. Maybe he wasn’t so concerned after all.

“He just did a moment ago and he looks really bad. I think he’s in pain.” Still some voice was telling him, what if Jin’s was right. But it couldn’t be …Ohkura wouldn’t go this far just to hold it. Would he?

“Did he poop?” Only Jin would go there in this kind of situation.

“What!? You can't ask that, it’s private! You're so disgusting, did you know that?” For a moment, Jin’s stupidity has him drop his focus but he recollects fast and decides to simply ignore his friend’s question.

“…So?” Jin’s voice seems to get more confident.

“...No, he didn't.” Ryo answers, but it just couldn’t be that simple. It would go against all earlier experiences with Ohkura as his pet. No, this had to be something else.

“There you go. Problem solved.” When Jin sounds so smug and happy with himself Ryo once again goes back to his first thought by instinct. Jin just couldn’t be right.

“Then why didn't he do it earlier? I still don't think that's what's wrong.” It was indeed weird, they hadn’t eaten that much and Ryo had only been sleeping for maybe a couple of hours. Hardly long enough for nature to make a second call that evening. Jin didn’t get the seriousness of it at all.

“I'm sure all he need is a little encouragement. Why don't you try poking his ass with a stick or something and I'm sure he's gonna be more up for it.” That was it. Though it was a joke in Jin’s true spirit Ryo simply wasn’t in the mood.

Ryo throws the phone into the wall, but before it connects and breaks into pieces he can clearly hear Jin's laugh through the receiver. He can't believe his friend would ignore him in such a serious situation. He's going to strangle him the next time he sees him, but for now he has to do something about the still crying man dog in his living room.

Giving it one more try he walks back to Tadayoshi who's lying down on the floor now. He gives him a look and kneels down beside him. Ohkura was almost doing cramping movements by now, lying on his side with pearls of sweat that were slowly trickling down the drummer’s forehead.

Then the door slams open and Ryo’s neck make a snapping sound out of turning too fast.

“Ryo!?” It was Yoko, who storms in through the open entrance door before he stops in his steps. His eyes go to Ryo kneeling and Ohkura who’s twisting beside him. Then he takes a few more hesitant steps closer and Ryo can see the same panic and confusion starting to build up in the newly arrived black ranger as he is currently feeling.

“Ohkura! Ryo-chan what’s wrong with him?” Then they are three on the floor and Ryo can’t do anything but shake his head. Somehow the appearance of the older member his making him teary eyed.

“I don’t know… I don’t. Help him! What should I do?” It feels good to have Yokoyama there. Somehow the guy always comes through when they really need him and this was doubtlessly one of those times. Ryo can hear the other take a deep breath.

“Is it stomachache? Did he eat anything bad?” It hits him like lightning from a clear sky. Though Yoko is obviously expecting Ryo to have asked already, just by hearing those questions Ryo is convinced that’s got to be it.

“I don’t know, maybe.” He watches as the other man takes action and touches Ohkura’s stomach. It gets and immediate reaction. The wailing is mixed with a growling and they both have to pull back quickly not the get bitten.

“Whoa, calm down Tadayoshi, we’re just trying to help.” He gets a weird look from Yoko but the other recovers quickly and tells Ryo what to do.

“Ok, try to get him to stand up and hold him still.” Slightly confused Ryo does as he’s told, careful not to touch the obviously sensitive area of Ohkura’s belly. All he can manage is to get him back into a half sitting position and he’s not sure this was what the other wanted, but Yoko nods and Ryo guesses it is good enough.

Yoko gives him a nod and then without warning he pushes, almost punches Ohkura straight in the gut. Ryo is too shocked about Yoko’s actions and loses his grip on the hurt man. But before he has a chance to even yell at the eldest man present, something is flying through the room and when it finally lands on Ryo’s stereo a good 3 meters away he realize it came from Ohkura’s mouth.

“Eeeew, what the hell Ohkura. I know you like stuffing yourself but what is that?! It looks rotten!” Yokoyama was already examining the goo covered in mucus that was slowly spreading over Ryo’s precious stereo, but feeling that Ohkura’s health is a priority Ryo found himself not caring all too much about it. In fact he was more worried about the fact that Yoko was there. Because if Yoko found out, there was no way he could keep this whole mess from the rest of the kansai group.

Either way Ryo crouched down to Ohkura who was coughing on the floor, certainly due to the hard blow he had received, none the less it seems the worst is over and the cries of pain were nowhere to be heard. Ryo was thankful that Yoko had showed up and didn’t want to think about what could have happened if he hadn’t.

Ryo is stroking Ohkura’s back, not daring enough to touch the belly yet and before he knows it the younger man is back to his, currently normal state. Which being wagging his tailless butt and give Ryo a few licks. That is until Yoko interrupts, bringing Ryo back to the real world with a rather unpleasant and quite loud hawk.

“Dokkun, what exactly is going on here? I thought Ohkura was home sick, but here I find him, first half dying on your floor and now ravishing your face.” There was a big question mark attached above the oldest head, and Ryo doesn’t blame him, but what was he supposed to do now? Really there isn’t much of a choice, like with Jin he has to go with the truth.

“Well, it’s kind of hard to explain…” Searching for a place to start in his head he really didn’t bother to keep Ohkura in place anymore and the drummer walks over to greet Yoko, being a whole lot friendlier to him than what he had been to Jin.

Ryo was just about to begin his complex story of the last few days when Yokoyama interrupts his train of thought completely with his unexpected exclamation. “Now I understand, so that’s how it is …I can’t believe it worked!”

“About Ohkura, the thing is he- …Eh!?” Looking at the man in front of him, petting Ohkura behind his ears as if it was the most normal thing in the world Ryo’s chin practically drops to the floor. Slowly the words sink in and when they do Ryo can’t help but to get shocked a second time.

“Eeeeh?!!! What did you just say?” His eyes are wide and he can’t believe how Yokoyama can just sit there looking so, so freaking normal.

“Ohkura I mean, I thought the whole thing failed, but apparently I was wrong.” Following the older man’s hand gesturing towards Ohkura, Ryo isn’t sure what to think anymore. Did this mean that Yokoyama knew something? The smile on his friend’s face is directed towards him and it seems he can sense Ryo’s confusion and he motions for Ryo to sit down. After Ryo obeys, Yoko finally begins to speak. “Okay, let me explain…”
