I'm not a big fan of the naming convention for pairings where you squish the two names into one. For one, I still haven't figured out if "Runo" is Rufus/Reno or Rude/Reno and apparently neither has the fandom as I've seen it used for both. (And there's nothing quite like going into a fic thinking it's one, and finding out it's another, so unless ( Read more... )

And with FFX someone could think they are going to read a fic about seafood and sandwiches and end up with Tidus X Yuna.

Reno/Rufus should be Refus, which is almost Refuse. . .
Reno/Rude can be Red, then people can be confused when RedXIII isn't in it.

*giggles* Well, it's at least slightly better than just using the first letter of the names (though I'm waiting for someone to write Reeve/Yuffie [and I've seen it already] and label it Reffie [traditionally Reno/Yuffie]).

And no, I never clicked the fic to learn who it actually referred to. ^^;; I was too afraid that the obvious answer wasn't the right one.
