Most horrifying pony-cleaning experience ever...

Finally have enough bookcases to start unboxing all of the ponies, so I'm going through and giving all of the ponies a light cleaning (minimal) before putting them out. Now, I use toothpaste and a very soft toothbrush, which has never caused a problem with So-Softs before. But as I'm cleaning Truly -- my VERY NEAR MINT Truly -- her flocking ( Read more... )

I'm guessing a combination of hot water and age -- the glue must have just had enough. It's not like I was using any chemicals. Don't like the thought of using too strong of stuff on the So-Softs because it *does* mess up the glue.

I've just never seen that happen.

Crazy.

Actually I had a Taffy that I was running under hot water on a day I was really irritated and ended up taking nearly all of her flocking off.

But the flocking was incredibly thin - I think I'm going to try and take the glue off entirely and sell her as a deflock.
