No worries. Hexadecimal = base 16. Most of the time we use base 10 in daily life. Computers use base 2 and base 16. It's just another way to write numbers. So the number 26 = 26 (base 10) = 11010 (base 2) = 1A (base 16). Your pocket calculator probably has a HEX button so you can enter numbers in base 16.
My algebra teacher used to say it'd make a lot more sense to use different bases if we didn't have 10 fingers. If we had 16 fingers, base 16 math is much simpler. He was a cool teacher ... :D
