I know I've been gone awhile. I apologize. I've been spending more time doing the paying job and not so much with the volunteer job. ANYWHO, this is a project I am working on for Christmas. This is the "Kat" half and I will be working on the "Chris" half later. I like the layout and the colors but I am definitely struggling a little bit with the ( Read more... )

The update will be coming soon... I'm in the middle of writing you an email right now. BUT hey, this is my design journal. My personal one is KatesterBP as you know... so how about some creative feedback, eh? I could use some constructive criticism/suggestions.

The image looks pretty cool, the text was a little confusing to look at, like it was work for my eyes to figure out what it said. The lyrics were too small, and the font for "whenever" was too goth for that image. other than that it was pretty sweet.

No idea WHICH fonts to tell you to use, though, I too would change them. The quote is too small, plain, doesn't stand out. The larger "Whenever" looks too manufactured compared to the photo quality of the remaining graphics.

Personally, I'd go deeper, too, and try to dull the lines on the photo, too, to give it more of a look like what Rockstar Games has been using on the Grand Theft Auto games, then add the text. Also, consider using the quote to scroll the bottom, adds to the flow of it.

I thought it was an ad for a new flavor of K-Y called "Katzberry".

That is sooo sweet! The type could be a little more "whimsical" then "gothic". Regardless of the type, he's gonna love it.

It does have a bit of a vampire-ish theme going for it with the red/black and gothic typeface. Maybe it's just me, though. You could always put the lyrics on your arm like a tattoo. But again, that's probably just me, I like tattoo's. I think it's an excellent idea for a present!
