Congrats on being a National Merit Semi-Finalist! :D You *will* get offered free rides to random schools, but be careful: some of them don't have that great a reputation or aren't very selective, and they just offer free rides in order to increase their numbers of National Merit Semi-Finalists and get some smart people to attend. Make sure you really do like the school if you choose one of them, because in order to get the free ride, you often have to list the school as your "first choice," which sort of disqualifies you from getting awards related to your National Merit standing at other schools, from what I remember. See what your top choices would give you and weigh it against what the "randoms" are offering. Best of luck with everything! Looks like a decent schedule: choir and study hall will break up the day nicely, but otherwise it looks fairly full. Toodles!

i know exactly what you mean about feeling isolated...it's just wierd. and our counselor is incompetent also, i think it's part of the job description.
oh by the way, you're officially invited to my birthday festivities on Saturday...it's looking like dinner at Perkin's around 6ish. i'll probably follow up with a phone call, but this is just a heads-up. :)

Hey babe. So it looks like Laura (Pirkola-Black) is going to be able to make it to my party, I wasn't really aware that you two had any sort of dislike for each other until that day when you and Tommy opted out of Project Runway because she would be there...it would really mean a lot to me if you were at my party tommorow, but if you don't feel comfortable about the situation, I'll completely understand.

of course I'll still be there. I never had a problem with Laura, but I got the feeling that she didn't like me based on things I was told she said about me (such as her comments during the Curious Savage). That's why I didn't think I should go to Charlotte's that night, because I know the three of you go way back and I thought my presence might make it awkward. This is completely different, though, and I certainly think I can put my hang-ups aside for your birthday ;)
