Before debut, he was really close to Hyoyeon (SNSD). During Flower Boy Generation, they both talked about how they spent their trainee days going home together after training, and how they always went to this ddukbokki stand to eat together. On Sukira with Hyoyeon and Eunhyuk, he also seemed a bit jealous when Hyohyuk started acting very close together and quickly changed the conversation lol. /not hinting at anything here 8D

Jonghyun -> Taemin (Jongtae):
Apparently these two have known each other the longest (shocker, I’d thought it would have been Key at first). There have been rumors that this is because both their mothers had been in the entertainment industry once, which was how they knew each other as kids, but that has no evidence lol. Jonghyun babies Taemin a lot - he’s always ruffling his hair and beaming at him all proudly, and I think like in Onew’s case, he finds Taemin absolutely adorable. Fun fact: whenever Jonghyun isn’t around, it’s Taemin who takes over his parts, probably because their voices sound a little similar lol.

He’s the supposed diva of the group, probably because of how flamboyant he behaves, his talent in dancing girl group dances, and his snarkiness. He comes across as bitchy and bossy sometimes (like Onew, he’s an only child, which is probably why he’s… like this), but I think the rest of the group have learned to put up with him. He’s also said before that he absolutely cannot lie at all, and says the harsh truth most of the time, as seen in the case of telling Nicole to go on a diet lmao. So Key is the Jokwon of the group in terms of kkap, the Changmin/Heechul of the group in terms of snark, the Jaejoong of the group in terms of umma-ness, the Jessica of the group in terms of icyness and the Wooyoung of the group in terms of camera-hogging/oneshot-loving

The Kim family is said to be very(?) wealthy. When he was young, Key was sent overseas to study language, probably America because he mentioned before that he’d stayed there for a while. Fun fact: Key is also the best in English out of SHINee lol (no, don’t let Jonghyun’s constant “sorry”s fool you). He’s apparently also been on a lot of exchange programmes to further his water-skiing skills (I’m sorry but I keep laughing when I think about that), which I guess shows how rich his family is. Apparently his dad is a stock broker or something like that

He used to be this quiet and useless (sorry but it’s true) person who was just there for the looks and rapping. Imho I think he also understood that he was there more for the sole purpose of being the silent, brooding type to bait fangirls in, which is why he didn’t particularly see the need to speak up. When the other members were off doing retarded stuff like running around or singing karaoke crazily, he just strolled at a leisurely pace or watched them with this weird half-smile lmao. I do miss silent!Minho sometimes though, especially when Hello Baby just aired and I was totally not used to his bossiness lol. Somehow between the Amigo and Juliette promotion periods that changed though. Maybe it was because he was more used to the camera/variety shows like Star King which gave him the chance to open up more

Dance machine of the group, maknae. He used to be pretty quiet and sweet at the start too, but recently he’s been getting a lot more snarky. Fun fact: back when they just debuted, Taemin had this habit of blinking non-stop when he was talking lol, which Key imitated on Yunhanam

key is also very close with dongwoon of beast and jaejin of ft island (i think he became friends with seunghyun through jaejin). dongwoon, jaejin, and jinwoon are key's brothas from other mothas. he has become friendly with fellow '91er mir recently (although i think key still kinda intimidates mir).
