i remember when people were saying that some writer darleenk was going to 'save' 2PM fanfic. i was all excited to read her 2PM fic when she posted it because it was about my favorite pairing and people said she was a great writer. well...it was horrid. such a disappointment.

i would agree with you except there's a couple of good writers in the fandom still writing. :/

the thought of attempting to write fic terrifies me because i still feel that i can't/won't be able to capture their personalities and people will be all, 'wtf is this crap :||||'

...the fact that i don't have a plot either kinda fails too, obviously. 8D

Are you kidding me, do you see the shit people come up with for characterizations and still get praised for? I say just don't be too cliche in your yearning to make people happy, and just write what you know. After all, what we know of these people is just what we see, and that's open for interpretation :D

And don't worry, most people won't say "wtf is this crap" do your face, they'll wait to say it here if it's really that horrible.

Definitely this. Just thinking of writing scares me.

what fandom are you trying to write for? some fandoms are easier in terms of characterizations because they've been around longer/show more personality. dbsk, suju, big bang, 2pm etc. it's also easier to fall into the trap of caricatures and stereotypes too, though.

bands like shinee, and the newer ones like mblaq, beast, f(x) etc. are harder because we don't know much about their personalities, but there's still enough.

for fic, i think it's important to pay attention to canon, but it's also important to be able to create actual, sympathetic characters that the reader can relate to also.

idk sometimes old writers write a bit of kangteuk, and it turns out good. qiguai is pretty good, imo. and there was this one office!au a few months back that was good too, leeteuk was being i/c of advertising or something, and kangin was this new employee. i liked that one kangteuk fiction prototypic wrote, too. although it got confusing sometimes.

superfic

i find it weird how they reject a few authors (people i know, but no, i'm not butthurt) over their characterization.

... how the heck do they know how super junior members behave irl, anyway.
