Welcome to kpopvalentines ! A Valentine's Day exchange community for 2012.
During elementary school, Valentine's Day was always a fun affair. Our mornings began by making construction paper mailboxes, and in the afternoon we went around the classroom filling our friends' and classmates' mailboxes with valentines we had made the night (and sometimes the week!) before. Going through our mailboxes afterwards was always exciting, seeing what others have made for us, and also knowing we've made someone else's smile that much wider!

If you've participated last year, then you probably already know how this works! If you're new to this, welcome! The rules are below. I've tried to make them as clear as possible, but if you have any questions, please feel free to comment on this post.
Rules:
[1] Sign-ups begin on January 5th! Leave a comment to the sign-up post with 5 requests. When you post your requests, you are also agreeing to make five (5) valentines for other people! - However, I realize that this may not be possible for everyone due to the range of fandoms and pairings in Kpop. So like last year, the five valentines is more of a goal than a requirement.
The requests can be any fic over 100 words. Drabbles are encouraged, but if the generous gifter feels up to it, they are not limited to an upper word limit.
[2] On January 20th, a post will be made for every person who signed up. This will be the inbox, their "construction paper mailbox," for collecting valentines.
[3] Beginning January 20th, everyone who signed up should browse through the entries for 5 requests they want to fulfill. When you find something you want to do, leave a comment (will be screened) to that inbox and claim the request. The mods will cross off requests that have been taken so that participants don't end up doing the same thing.
Unfortunately, due to this process and the mods' real life obligations, multiple claims may be made upon the same request before they've been crossed off. Should that happen, the request will go to the person who made the first claim, and those after will be sent a very apologetic pm asking them to choose another request.
Beginning this year, we will release a masterlist of all of the prompts the participants have provided, and make it available for viewing only on January 19th, 24 hours before the prompt claiming process begins. This will allow participants to review the list and see what requests they would like to take the next day. Since sign-ups are still open during this period, the masterlist will be updated to include new participants' requests, so keep checking back if you're interested. Hopefully this allow for more preparation and lessen the stress of the claims process. However, the individual inboxes will still be screened (meaning no claims yet!), and each prompt can still only be claimed once!
[4] When you've completed your valentine, leave it in a comment to the recipient’s inbox. Again, these will be screened.
[5] Since Kpop is a large, diverse fandom, requests for certain groups and pairings may not be filled. Should they remain unclaimed until February 7th, you may contact me to replace your unclaimed request(s) for another of your choosing. Therefore, I encourage those participating to check back then for new requests to take.
[6] On February 14th, I’ll unscreen all the valentines for everyone to see! Check your inbox to get your gifts.
[7] Gifts can be posted through the end of February.
NOTE: You do not have to be a participant in this exchange to make a gift for someone! The aim of this exchange is to have all participants receive five gifts for Valentine's Day, although I realize this may be too idealistic. You will not be penalized if you do not fill five requests should there be none for you to claim. However, you will be blacklisted if you claim a request and fail to fill it by the end of February. Should rl get in the way of fic-writing, I encourage you to give up your claim (via email or pm) by February 7th, so that others may have a chance to fulfill that request.
