Big bike ride, ate at restaurants
Friday night I went for a little bike ride, ending up in town and having some beer and quesadillas in town, then hanging out and doing LEGO (some sets I haven't built before).
Saturday I went to Sporty's for Ham Radio breakfast; that was interesting. We ate indoors, at a fully table with people I hadn't bubbled with. It was like the before times, although Sporty's had some lovely remodeling. Much less dive-bar, much more yuppie-friendly. The club is a bunch of fun people, so that was enjoyable to be back in person. Then we had a trip to the tool library, but they didn't have the right tool. I got started on the lawn, but didn't finish before my dog walking appointment. I think I may start a weekly commitment at the animal shelter to get more comfortable with dogs. I haven't been around them since childhood. That meeting went on for much longer than expected; we took a husky named Max out for a long walk (he mostly ignored us, like a classy rich person ignores the servants). Not a personable dog, but a beautiful one. Then back home where I finished the whole lawn, eventually. I suspect I did something else outside, but I forget what.
Sunday I got out by 10am for a big bike ride; I confirmed I had done all the roads on Maury Island (there are gravel roads I haven't done, but they aren't part of the goal. I went over the milage goal again, reaching 31 miles before I got home. I saw a bald eagle perching next to a pirate flag, and rode alongside some pigs, as well. After the ride, I did a quick run to the hardware store (and went inside, also new) to get compost. (our own compost is not cooking fast enough to match consumption). In the evening there was a small radio net, but still glad I attended.
