Okay, if you'd have told me that someone could write Sherlock as a nursery school teacher believably, I'd have laughed! BUT I can actually see all of this! Brilliant! :D

“Do you need something, Maddy, or are you merely checking in?” Sherlock says.

I actually awwww-ed at that line! (And at many other parts as well.)

I'm going to awww a bit myself right now . . . thank you!!

I think Sherlock is really a bit stiffer, much blunter, more formal version of myself here. Um, with less of a filter. :) I do regularly ask children if they need something or are just checking in -- my kids tend to "check in" pretty often. :)

I liked this a lot!!! I could really see Sherlock's personality translating into his matter of fact way with the children. :):):)

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! And thank you also for the nitpick -- that's something that would never occur to me, of course. Thanks!

This was utterly inspired and adorable. There's something great in the idea that Sherlock likes children because they are still willing to be surprised. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Adorable! And I don't care about the made up education system XD

I'm shocked about the ladybugs, though! Ladybirds aren't pests. In fact they might be termed "'natural' pesticides" since they eat aphids and are often deliberately introduced to crops to deal with a pest problem. Boo! Hiss! to dead ladybirds ;-)

Thank you for the great feedback! :)

Oh, poor ladybirds/ladybugs! In my head, that's more a nod to Sherlock's morbid side (and to children's vast interest in bugs, including dead ones, heh) than anything else. Sherlock probably objected to the pesticide, natural or not, and I think he's being factious more than anything else. I can picture him having an argument with Mrs. Hudson about the groundkeepers' methods. ;)
