It's Friday afternoon, which means I officially made it through an entire week of school without skipping class a single time! I know that's a pathetic thing to feel pride from, as I'm in school, and class is what we do here, but I've not done so well with the whole 'showing up' thing, so this was a good start. I made a promise to bk and a pact

Hallo! I won't write much, cause I have to take my TWO HOUR ORAL EXAM AT 3 F'N THIRTY. . . However, I'll just point out that yes, teachers do suck sometimes, and yes, there are slacker teachers. One way to counter this, at least to some degree, is to go visit them at their office hours, which can often give you a better idea of who they are and what they're all about. I had the meanest, rottenest chem prof in the world at ND, but he was delightful in office hours, and I learned way more there than in lecture. Also, without directly telling them 'I think you blow as a teacher, and frankly, you probably swallow, as well', you can still frame questions like 'I feel like I'm not getting as much out of this class as I could be' in such a way as to allow them to help you and maybe to improve their teaching, without jeoparding your grade or standing in the class.

Anyway, off to learn the pre-Socratics. . .
