Chapter 1 A couple days later, Kris was released from the hospital with strict orders not to play any shows for a couple weeks. It was tempting to break that rule, but the band wouldn't let him, so exactly two weeks after he was released, Kris and the band performed the concert they should have performed previously. Kris could quickly see why they hadn't wanted him playing shows soon. Even though he had waited the appropriate time, he was dizzy, light headed and slightly nauseous during the show. The crowed seemed to be into the performance though, so Kris guessed he wasn't doing too bad.
By the fifth song, Kris just wanted to get off the stage. He felt guilty for that. He loved his job and his fans, but he was terrified of being sick or passing out on stage.
After that song finished, Kris looked up, something he had avoided doing because the lights killed his head, about to tell the audience that he just couldn't do it anymore. However, when he looked up, he saw the man again. Kris froze, the breath catching in his throat. All he could do was stare at him, and the mystery man stared back. Then, he gave a little nod and Kris snapped back to reality. The crowd was waiting anxiously as his band gave him a nervous look. He opened his mouth to tell everyone that the show was over, but realized that he felt better. Not perfect, but good enough to get through the concert.
"Are ya'll ready for another song?!" Kris asked his fans, giving them and his band a smile to let them know he was okay. The crowed cheered and screamed and the band smiled, then began the intro to the next song.
Kris kept an eye on the guy who saved him two weeks previously throughout the whole concert. He stayed the entire time, giving Kris a small smile each time he noticed him staring, which was every time. With each smile, excitement grew in Kris. He was anxious for the end of the concert again, but not because he didn't feel good. He was dying to find that guy and ask him why he left so quickly that day...and who he was.
As he began his exit speech, he saw the guy start to walk out of the doors, so sped it up and then hurried off stage and to the main hall. Some other people were already starting to file out, and excited gasps and squeals escaped from them as they saw Kris. Kris made a point to smile and say hi to each of them, but quickly hurried past them in search of one particular fan. He ran up and down the hall, around every corner and even to the parking lot. When he couldn't find him there, he took on creeper status and went into the bathroom, but the man was nowhere.
"Damn it!" Kris breathed before forcing a smile and going out to give autographs to the other fans.
Kris was still upset that he hadn't been able to catch up with his pretty hero when he got home. He was starting to feel bad again though, so he washed up quickly, then went to sleep.
At first, the sleep was nice. When he first laid down, it felt as if his body sunk into the mattress and his head into the pillow. He didn't even dream at first. Then, visions started to appear before his closed eyes. He was standing in a never-ending hallway of what appeared to be a mansion or something. The walls were a heavenly white, which the candle lights illuminated. The tile floor was also white, and sparkly.
In his dream, Kris looked around, trying to find out where he was, when he noticed his mystery man walking in front of him. Adrenaline instantly ran through Kris's body and he started running. Somehow, even though he was only walking, the man kept his distance.
"Hey!" Kris called. "Wait!"
To his pleasure, the man stopped and turned to look Kris directly in the eyes. Kris gasped and froze again, immediately taken in by his beauty, especially by his striking blue-gray eyes that seemed to pop thanks to his thick eyeliner and ink black hair. His skin seemed to glow.
The man moved his perfect lips, saying something, but Kris couldn't hear him or read his lips. Then, the guy turned and began walking again.
"Wait!" Kris called again, but he didn't listen that time, and Kris couldn't run after him. "Please, come back!"
But, in a flash of light, the guy was gone.
Kris awoke quickly, feeling like he was being watched. He sat and turned on his light, looking feverishly around, but nobody was there.
Letting out a sigh, Kris laid back down, thinking of his dream.
That's it, Kris though to himself. I have to find that guy.
He had to, and he knew he would.
