A is for Adam

“Hi, I’m Adam Lambert.” Kris smiles and they shake hands.

“Nice to meet you, Adam.” And Adam smiles back brightly.

B is for Bumblebee

The first time they get to spend time at the pool a bumblebee comes after Adam. The girls freak and run inside, leaving poor Adam to defend for himself while the guys just laugh. He runs around the pool, ducking and weaving between things, while the bee buzzes after him. It’s not until Kris swats at the nuisance and smushes it that Adam realizes how attractive the guy really is.

C is for Cuddly

Kris finds out a couple of weeks in that Adam is a cuddly kind of guy. He doesn’t mean to reach out when they’re sitting on the couch and wrap his arm around Kris’ waist. But Kris discovers her really doesn’t mind at all.

D is for Daring

Any friend of Adam’s would know that he’s a little dare-devil at heart. Kris doesn’t see that until the top ten week. Adam convinces Kris to go for a midnight swim. Kris is all for it until Adam tries to get him to jump off the roof into the pool.

E is for Energetic

Adam is an energetic person. He talks a lot and he laughs all the time and he doesn’t mind one bit that he has a potty mouth the size of Texas. He’s always on the go and Kris has hardly ever seen him sit still. Kris finally finds a way to get him to be still by sitting on him during the gang’s designated movie night. Adam freezes and doesn’t move the rest of the night.

F is for Freak

Kris’ face couldn’t be any redder with anger. He saw the pictures that circulated the internet and that stupid Bill O’Reilly show. He saw the nervousness that the pictures brought Adam. But most of all he saw the past reflected in those blue eyes. A past of people that never accepted him, labeled him as a freak or a weirdo. And for an instant, Kris wants to punch the lights out of those people.

G is for Green

Kris doesn’t think he’s ever been so jealous. At least not since some guy hit on Katy a few years ago. He didn’t think it would make him so jealous to see Adam dancing with some guy, touching and being touched. It wasn’t until they got back to the mansion and Adam gave him the biggest hug that Kris felt the monster go into hiding.

H is for Hot

They get another day to spend at the pool. But this time it’s only Adam, Kris, Gokey, and Matt. The others are inside with the girls watching some chick flick. Kris only has eyes for Adam. Adam who’s running to the diving board in a pair of swim shorts covered in the Coca-Cola logo. Kris can’t keep his eyes off the toned, slightly tanned body, nor the way it looks when Adam surfaces and there’s water droplets sliding down his back. Kris has to force his eyes away and think of puppies and rainbows before he embarasses himself.

I is for Intimidate

Kris knows Adam’s a tall guy, a lot bigger than Kris himself, and he figures the guy could probably beat somebody up if it came down to it. So when some reporter comes up looking for answers about Adam’s sexuality for the millionth time, Adam towers over the guy and just stares at him. Kris smirks when the guy mutters an apology and runs off. Later, he and Adam laugh about it.

J is for Juno

Somehow Kris finds himself watching Juno, of all things, with Adam the night after the judges save Matt. After a long day of rehearsing Adam convinced Kris to sit and relax for a couple of hours.

“This movie sucks,” Kris comments.

“I know,” Adam responds and Kris notices for the first time that night that Adam wasn’t watching the movie at all: he was watching Kris.

K is for Kiss

Kris remembers the first time he kissed a girl. It was nice. But kissing a girl could never compare to kissing Adam. When Adam advanced on him earlier that night and pinned him by the door, Kris thought he would freak out. Then Adam pressed their lips together in a short but amazing kiss. Kris automatically thought that kissing Adam is a whole lot better than kissing a girl. That’s why he can’t stop.

L is for Love

The first time Kris considered love had been when he and Katy started dating. He knew his stomach did flips when she was around and when they kissed he lost his breath. With Adam it’s different. Kris’ heart squeezes when Adam hugs him, his brain stops all functions when they kiss, and his limbs turn to jello with a simple stare. He couldn’t possibly love Adam. Could he?

M is for Me

Adam stares at Kris like he’s crazy.

“Me, me, ME! That’s all you ever think about isn’t it, Adam?!” Kris says angrily but he doesn’t raise his voice. Adam doesn’t say anything at the moment. He steps forward, grabs Kris’ face, kisses him once fiercly, then smiles.

“No, Kris. All I think about is you.”

N is for No

“No.”

“But-“

“No!” Kris laughs.

“But, Kri-“

“Adam, NO. I’m not letting you put eyeliner on me. That’s final.” Kris pats Adam’s cheek before leaving their bedroom in the mansion. No way is he getting made up.

O is for Orange

Kris has to hold in his laughter. But he can’t help it when Adam is standing in front of him wearing the brightest neon orange shirt Kris has ever seen. “Man, you look like a traffic cone,” Kris comments. He shuts up when Adam tackles him to the bed and kisses him senseless.

P is for Photograph

There’s only five of them left now. They’re taking the group photo that’ll go on the website. Adam is behind Kris, one hand on the younger ones’ shoulder. When the photographer takes the millionth picture Adam squeezes that shoulder as a promise that afterwards they’ll have some fun.

Q is for Quailman

When Adam gets Kris to watch Doug (“Just for the hell of it!” he said), Kris laughs his ass off.

“You know, you could pass for Quailman,” Adam smirks and Kris tackles him to the couch with a supressed girly squeal coming from Adam.

R is for Right

Kris freezes when he hears about the comment Gokey made. About loving Michael Sarver in the “right and Godly way”. It made him fume and he wanted to hit something. It’s not about what’s right or what’s wrong or what’s black or white. It’s about who the person really is inside. Kris decides to let the comment float on by. He knows what’s “right.”

S is for Sex

When Adam pinned Kris to the bed and hovered over him, hips pressing into Kris’, Kris thought he would never be in this kind of position unless it’s with Katy. It feels different, better with Adam on top of him, kissing him passionately and rocking their hips together. It’s all touching and thrusting and sweating and moaning and crying out in pure pleasure. Kris loves the way their bodies fit together, like two missing puzzle pieces.

When it’s over, he curls into Adam’s side and just smiles.

T is for Time

Adam thinks it’ll take Katy time. It’ll take her time to warm up to Adam some more. It’ll take her time to get used to the idea that her husband of just a few months cheated on her-with another man at that. It’ll take her time to get over the fact that she can’t win his heart back. She knows Kris loves her. But she can see that he’s in love with Adam.

It will all take time.

U is for Underdog

Kris has been the underdog in this entire competition. So when it comes down to the elimination night that will tell them who’s in the top three he can’t help but feel that it’s his last night. The underdog usually never comes out on top.

But he really believes he has a chance when Allison is sent home and he’s in the top three.

V is Votes

Adam is nervous for voting. He’s terrified to know who out of the three of them will be the top two contestants. It all comes down to voting. It comes down to the voters in America. He can’t help but to think that as long as he’s still with Kris, he’ll be fine.

W is for Winner

Kris won the title. Adam couldn’t be happier for him. He wanted to win, yes, but he really thinks the better man one. And that moment when Kris is announced as the winner and he automatically reaches out to Adam, Adam knows everything will be alright.

X is for Xenon

As cheesy as it sounds, Kris feels like Xenon the warrior. He feels like a fighter that won the fight. He fought his way to the top, never really believed in himself, but he still fought. He fought to get where he is today and he fought to get Adam. He feels like a warrior that finally got the prize at the end of a long journey. He got the title of American Idol, he got the best friend he could ever have, and most of all he got Adam.

Y is for Yes

When Adam asks Kris if he’d like to co-write something the immediate answer is yes. The tour starts soon and he and Kris start recording their own albums soon. But he wants Kris on his. So he’s happy when the answer to everything he wants is yes.

Z is for Zebra

Months later both Adam and Kris have reached the top. They both found out that nothing is black and white in the world of being a celebrity. The people they meet and the people they grow to know and become friends with play a big part in their lives. Those people are colorful and different and they keep them on their feet when they feel like times are bad. Adam and Kris know, of all people, how harsh some people are. They know how black and white those people are. Those people only see two colors; they never see the colorful side of life.

In the end all that matters is that they have each other to fall back on.
