Here Comes Goodbye (songfic)

Jun 03, 2009 01:33

Within 5 minutes the whole conversation about Katy was forgotten. I sat on the couch, Adam’s arm around me as he channel surfed, looking for something that looked at least a little decent. The truth is, TV is crap nowadays. His fingers were playing with the little hair I had while my head was rested on his chest. It felt good like that. It felt…right, like it was meant to be. I smiled at the thought.
“What are you smiling-“
He was cut off by the sound of a car slowly pulling into the gravel driveway. Adam practically jumped up. “I-just…uh, I’m gonna go in the other room.” Before I could say anything, he was gone.
“I-I. ADAM!”
I could hear him giggling to himself in the other room. I sighed. Then the doorbell rang.

I can hear the truck tires coming up the gravel road
And it's not like her to drive that slow,
Nothing's on the radio
Footsteps on the front porch, I hear my doorbell
She usually comes right in, now I can tell

I answered the door, slightly confused, but smiled when it was Katy at the door.
“You know you just could have come in.” I informed her.
“Yeah. I know.” She sighed.
“Katy, baby, what’s wrong?”
Her head was hanging low, her eyes staring at her feet. I invited her in. She took a few steps and stood there, her eyes still fixed on her feet and sighed.

Here comes goodbye
Here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry

Here comes the pain
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
And she was right here in my arms tonight
But here comes goodbye

“Look, Kris. We both know this isn’t, and never will, work out. It…the spark, just isn’t there anymore.” She looked up at me. “I still love you, yes, but I’m not getting the same love back. The fact is, there’s someone else and I-I get it. I see the way you two look at eachother. I just hope that someday someone will look at me that way..” She looked up and smiled. But it wasn’t a real smile. She was hiding something behind it. It-it was like a mask.
“Katy…I”
“No Kris. Save it. We weren’t meant for eachother. I can tell that with you and Adam…It’s…It’s just destiny. That’s  who you were meant for. There’s no other way to put it. You two were made for eachother and you know it. Like I said, I still love you, but that’s why I’ve got to let you go. Goodbye Kris.” She turned around and headed for the door. I could feel my eyes watering. A single tear, one of many, slowly slid down my face.

I can hear her say "I love you" like it was yesterday
And I can see it written on her face that she had never felt this way
One day I thought I'd see her with her daddy by her side
And violins would play Here Comes The Bride

“Katy. Katy, wait!” Without thinking, I grabbed her hand and spun her back around towards me, crashing our lips together.

Nothing.

She was right. It just wasn’t there anymore.
She pulled away. Tears forming in her eyes. “See what I mean?”
I simply nodded. There was nothing else I could say. Even if I had something to say, I couldn’t feel my mouth. I couldn’t feel my body. I was completely numb.

Here comes the pain
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
And she was right here in my arms tonight
But here comes goodbye

Why's it have to go from good to gone?
Before the lights turn on
Yeah, and you're left alone
Oh! But here comes goodbye! Oh!

“Goodbye Kris.” A single tear shed from her face. Splashing onto the floor. To me, it felt and sounded like more than a tear. It was like a rainstorm, a flood.
Then she was gone.

Here comes goodbye
Here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry

Here comes the pain
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
And she was right here in my arms tonight
But here comes goodbye, ooh

(Another) A/N: Soooo this didn’t turn out how I planned exactly. I was working on another Kradam fic and this song came on my iTunes & I just had to write a fic about it so I thought this was a good one to write about. So in a way, this is my first, but not first Kradam fic.
Wow that made no sense. haha. Well it's my second one I've written but the first one I've posted...that makes more sense...actually it's not even much of a Kradam fic. But again, I'm sorry for the crappy writing. I absolutely hate my writing, but I love to write. lol. I don't get it, either. >_<
Anywhooo it's 2am and I'm a little delusional but I’m thinking of a part dos with tons of Kradam epicness. Maybe?
