Fic: To Make You Feel My Love
Adam had no idea what to do, this messy divorce between Kris and Katy had forced Kris into a deep depression and Adam had no idea what to do about it. Adam stands outside their shared bedroom at the Idol mansion listening as his best friend sob like the world is ending. Adam did not know why they were getting a divorce they had seemed generally happy when he met the couple but as the competition continued it got worse. Sometimes at night Katy would show up at the mansion and they would go to a secluded room to scream at each other until neither could speak any more.
Adam knocks softly on the door, twice before entering the room. Kris was sprawled across his bed, his tear-stained face was red from hours of uncontrollable crying. Adam walks quietly over to Kris' bed and sits down by his feet. Adam reaches for Kris' hand, Kris takes it and is pulled up and into Adam's arms. The men did not speak, they did not need to.
Adam's heart was breaking for this fragile man in his arms, so he began singing "When the rain is blowing in your your face, and the whole the world is on your case,"Kris sniffled against Adam's shoulder now wet with Kris' tears so he continued, "I could offer you a warm embrace, to make you feel my love.".
Kris lifted his head from Adam's shoulder and begin to sing with growing strength in his voice, "When the evening shadows and the stars appear, and there is no one there to dry you tears," Kris looks at Adam with uncertainty earning himself a reassuring smile, so he continued, "I could hold you for a million years, to make you feel my love,".
Adam's voice rang out interrupting Kris, "I know you haven't made your mind up yet, but I would never do you wrong,".
Kris puts his hand to Adam's cheek and sings with all the love and passion a person's heart can hold, "I've known it from the moment that we met, there's no doubt in my mind where you belong," Kris looks into Adam's sparkling blue eyes, "I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue, I'd go crawling down the avenue,".
Adam joins him, their voices mixing in perfect harmony, "there ain't nothing that I wouldn't do, to make you feel my love,".
Kris wraps his arms around Adam's neck, Adam's hands still against the small of his back. Kris looks at him judging his expression before sighing and whispering, "I love you,". Adam's eyes go wide in shock.
Adam tries to reply but he stutters over his words, "bu...but...you...you an," Kris puts his pointer finger up to Adam's lips to silence him.
"I'm getting divorced for a reason, you, I told Katy, I love you Adam,".
Adam was still confused and obviously Kris notices because he leans forward and presses his lips to Adam's. Adam tenses at first but soon relaxes and kisses back, enjoying the feel feel of Kris' soft lips against his own. When they pull apart both men gasping for air. Kris again lifts his hand to Adam's face while with his other hand twining his fingers into Adam's. Adam smiles softly.
"I love you too,".
