Title: Dusk and Dawn
Author: slashfiend337
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 239 (Yeah, really.)
Summary: I don't really know. Just a snippet of Adam and Kris' relationship, one night in the mansion. Written in the margins of my Civ to 1660 notes. (completely insignificant, I'm rambling at this point.)
Warnings: Almost-infidelity, preslash, excessive use of adjectives and commas, ridiculously short.

"I don't want to hurt her," Kris says in a whisper against Adam's freckled chest. He feels Adam nod, feels those beautiful hands, dexterous and slender, running through his hair soothingly.

"I know, Kris, I know," Adam murmurs against his temple, breath ghosting across Kris' ear and down his neck. Kris shivers and brings his hand to caress Adam's face, feeling the slight trace of stubble, barely noticeable, but enough to remind Kris that the man next to him, or, rather, under him, is very much a man, as if the firm chest under his head isn't enough.

Adam sighs and moves one hand from where it's resting against Kris' side up to rest on Kris' hand, stilling its path.

"Kris, please, don't. If you don't stop, I won't be able to." Kris moans in tired resignation, his eyes closing and chest tightening as he moves his hand back to Adam's right shoulder. Adam drops a kiss onto Kris' wrist. Kris exhales and turns his face towards the window, the black night taunting him, dark and beautiful, black that glitters with the lights of Hollywood, like the glitter for which Adam has such an affinity, reminding him of everything he can't have as he drifts to sleep in Adam's arms.

When the sun rises, golden like the silk of Katy's hair, Kris slips from Adam's grasp, back to his own bed, back to the daytime, awaiting the night again.
