"C'mon, Kris, give me longing."
Longing? Kris stifled a sigh and changed his angle just a little, coaxing his face into what he hoped was an expression of yearning and want and... stuff like that. Not that he didn't know about those things; he just, y'know, couldn't call them to his face when he wasn't in the mood.
Not like Adam. The relentless click of the camera shutter faded into the background as Kris recalled the times he'd watched Adam pose for the camera. Boy's a natural, Lil had once said, her tone hushed and awed as gloss-slicked lips had pouted then smiled, as dark-smudged eyes had blazed then crinkled with genuine laughter. Oh yeah, Adam was definitely a natural. He--
"Kris, if I want dreamy I'll ask for dreamy, okay?" Jason, the photographer sighed. "I need longing from you here. C'mon, baby, work with me, yeah? This is your album cover. The world's gonna see this. I want longing here."
"Sorry," Kris muttered, scrubbing his right hand over the back of his neck. He tweaked the collar of his jacket and bit his lip as the stylist scuttled over to rearrange it.
"It's okay, sweetie," she murmured. "He's pretty exacting when he's got an image in mind."
She was swirling a makeup brush over his forehead and upper lip. "Getting a lil' bit sweaty there," she grinned. One finger tugged down the front of his t-shirt a little. "Show a bit of skin; they'll love that," she added in a whisper.
"Okay, Kris. New film in the camera, baby," Jason called. "I want you to fill it with longing."
Kris looked up at the stylist. "He's bugging me," he whispered, and she patted his cheek with a soft powder pad.
"I know. Just... do your best. Oh hey, look who's here!" She backed away and the camera started to click again.
Here? Kris turned his head, looking over his left shoulder. And, oh God. There. Standing in the open door at the back of the small theatre they were shooting in. Tall, broad, smiling and waving at him. How in hell had Adam known they were going to be here?

"Perfect!" Jason squeaked. "Now that's what I call longing!"
