Title: 25 Reasons (Why I'm really in love with you)
Author: Broadwaybella91
Pairing: Kradam; mentions of others
Rating: PG-13
Notes: I didn't mean to make this long, but I couldn't stop thinking of things. I was going to make it Adam's POV, but changed my mind. Maybe I'll have Adam "write back: if you guys like it enough. It's mostly just fluff. Comments are love, and highly appreciated.
Dear Adam,
It’s late and I should be sleeping but I can’t. It’s late, It’s the final three week, and I should be sleeping but I can’t.
And you looked entirely too peaceful to wake you up because of me.
But I wanted to tell you the things I’m about to say. And maybe this is as much for me as it is for you?
Anyway…there are a million reasons off the top of my head why I shouldn’t have the kind of feelings I have for you. There are a million.
But….I don’t know. I feel like there are so many more why I should. So many great memories of you, of…us(?) that make it so easy. I had to write them down, incase...well, just incase. So here it goes.
Forgive me how shamelessly tacky this is, okay?
- The first time we ever met. It was during Hollywood week and we were watching the girls sing. I remember it because you came up to me and smiled, and said “Hi. I’m Adam.” And before I even had a chance to respond you just started talking. About nothing. About everything. Like we had been friends for fifteen years. It made me wish we had been.
- Getting in the top 13 with you and Allison.
- Wondering if I was ever going to get a word in edge wise after that.
- The way you looked at me when we moved into the mansion and did that head tilt thing that you do, and smiled and said “Rommates?”. I knew I didn’t stand a chance.
- The night when you, Lil, Matt, Megan and Danny had a competition to see who could hit the highest note, and you won.
- You always found a way to make us feel better, after the judges tore us apart. That’s a gift Adam. Don’t let anyone take that from you.
- The night after I sang “All she wants to do is dance” I was sure I was going home. I remember I started to pack my things and you went over, locked the door. Then like a force of nature you walked back over to me, pulled me up by the wrist, and kissed me full on the mouth.
- The way you kept apologizing after you did that. You said “I’m sorry Kris, I’m sorry….you’re not even…I’m sorry”.
- Three days later when I found you, after you avoided me like I had the swine flu. Your face when I told you not to be sorry. And then I kissed you back.
- The way you watched me when I sang “Falling Slowly” and I could tell you wanted to ask. And I took you by the wrist and swallowed hard and said “It was for you”.
- How you made all of us stay up when Matt got saved. We watched movies and talked, and laughed, and none of us had ever been so exhausted. But nothing could have been more perfect.
- When you and I googled the name “Kradam” together. I’ll never ever forget some of those stories. Or what we did after that. It was definitely better than reading.
- “If I can’t have you” it was perfect. Seriously. You don’t even realize how good you are, and that’s the best part about you.
- You helping Allison pick out a song for Disco night because she had no idea what to sing. I think I remember you referring to her as ten years old the rest of the night.
- How we shared a room for a lot longer than we needed to. And when you did leave, you left half your things in my room because you brought so much with you.
- Every single time you kiss me.
- Every single time you’ve made me laugh so hard I’ve cried.
- The night we just stayed up and talked. You crawled into my bed and wrapped your arms around my waist. We pulled the covers over us and I pushed the hair out of your eyes and we just talked, and kissed, and held each other.
- The way when someone is talking to you, you listen to them. Really listen. You give them your full attention.
- The result night after Rat Pack. I was so nervous and unsure but you were so reassuring and calming and it was perfect. There was no other way I would have wanted to celebrate.
- The way you first look in the morning. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen your hair messed up, you don’t have any makeup on yet. How you rub your eyes and smile at me in the bathroom mirror, and lean over kissing me saying something resembling a greeting.
- When you took Allison to get her hair done, and then you told her you weren’t letting her out of the house because she looked way too old. Something about jail bait waiting to happen.
- You dared me to paint my nails, and didn’t think I’d really do it. One totally counts, by the way.
- The way you just held me after the top four. I knew how high you were after your performance but it was like it took you five minutes to come down to my level. Laying there, with you, and just feeling you there. We fell asleep like that.
- The way after Allison got voted off, you went into her room, popped in an ABBA CD you had made her listen to and blasted “Dancing Queen”. You made her dance with you and she could hardly breath she was laughing so hard. The three of us always promised each other when we went out; we’d do it with a bang. You weren’t kidding.
Love,
Kris
I stopped typing when Adam wondered into my room. He rubbed his eyes tiredly and yawned. “Kris, what are you doing in here? Come to bed, it’s late.”
I hit send on the e-mail before I shut my laptop off, thinking how much this needed to be on the list.
