Crybaby continued

Again, I own nothing. I love these people and mean them no harm whatsoever. I will write the Kradam part tommorrow...maybe.
If you got here through the wonders of  google or such things, please feel free to continue, but take with a grain of salt.
Read part one here

Their embrace was rudely interrupted by the sound of a car horn. Intruder! Intruder! it wailed in Adams ears. He had been holding Ali for so long that now he was the one who didn’t want to let go. Adam took a blow of cold air, the laws of science filling the space where Ali had been. He took a labored breath, willing that practiced calm to smother emotions that were fighting their way to his surface. He would not break down in front of her, she was already broken. Yet again, he pulled away. She looked up at him, panic stricken.

“Adam-“ her tear ducts filled. Keeping his face straight, he flicked a thumb under her eye. Wetness smeared at her temples. She blinked, catching his hand. She held it to her heart, “Imprinted” she breathed.

He nodded slowly, “imprinted” He willed a smile to the surface. The one that came felt as if it were made of dried plastercine, as though it were ready to crack if she questioned it.
A look of resolution came over her face. She bent and picked up her bag (“how could a sixteen year old only have one bag?” he had chided when they met) turned, and descended the steps. Adam waited. He knew she would be upset if she looked back and he was gone. Her hand grazed the handle of the limo sent to take her to the airport. Her mother had left earlier, they would be meeting there. She looked over her shoulder, Adam raised a peace sign. She made a heart with her hands. Adam watched as the limo swallowed her up, her hair was the last thing to disappear, blue streak and all. He stayed planted on the spot, peace sign still molded to his fingers, until the car with the intruding horn disappeared around the corner that led to another planet.
