Adam picked up his phone and quickly dialed a familiar number. It rang twice before he heard his best friend's southern drawl.

"Where are you?" Adam asked quietly.

He knew that Kris had just finished up a tour. He wasn't sure if he was back in L.A. or on vacation somewhere.

"I'm in Arkansas…visiting family. My cousin is getting married this weekend." Kris explained.

He had a smile on his face. He loved hearing from Adam.

"Oh." Adam said as he tried to hold back tears.

"Adam, what's wrong? You sound upset. Talk to me." Kris demanded softly.

"I really didn't want to do this on the phone." Adam replied as he took a deep breathe. "I'm scared."

"What are you talking about? What happened?" Kris quizzed getting more and more concerned by the second.

"I told you that I haven't been feeling the greatest lately. I went to the doctor earlier today. He's not sure what's wrong with me. He sent me for a bunch of tests." Adam told him.

"He must have some idea of what's wrong. What did he say?" Kris inquired.

"It might be..." Adam choked on his words. "It might be cancer."

"Oh, God." Kris whispered as he felt like all the air had been knocked from his body.

He could hear Adam's sobs through the phone. Kris took a moment to compose himself.

"He said it might be cancer. That doesn't mean that it is cancer. That's worse case scenario. Besides even if it is cancer, that's not a death sentence. There are treatments. Lots of people recover from cancer…go into remission." Kris assured him.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just really scared." Adam responded as he started to cry again.

"It's going to be okay. When do you get the test results?" Kris questioned.

"I have to go back to the doctor on Friday. He put a rush on the results." Adam answered as he sniffled.

"Have you talked to your mom?" Kris asked.

"She knows. She went with me to the doctor today. She's going with me on Friday." Adam replied as he grabbed some tissues and wiped his eyes.

"I'm glad." Kris stated.

Adam and Kris talked for a while longer. Kris tried to assure Adam that everything would be okay. Adam listened to Kris, but he was still afraid. Before they hung up, Kris made Adam promise to call him as soon as he was done with the doctor on Friday.

~~~
On Thursday morning, Adam was laying on the couch. The television was on, but he wasn't watching it. He couldn't stop thinking about his test results. He still had a day until he found out what was wrong with him.
Adam was just starting to doze off when he heard his doorbell. He wondered who it was. He lived in a gated community and only a few people knew the codes to get in. He figured that it was probably his mother checking up on him. She was really worried about him. He didn't know why she just didn't use the key she had to open the door. He slowly got up from the couch and padded toward the door. The bell rang again before he got there. He pulled the door open and gasped when he saw who was standing there.
"Kris, what are you doing here?" Adam asked as Kris smiled at him and walked into the house.
Kris dropped his bag on the floor. He set a box that he had been carrying on the table and pulled Adam into a hug.
"You didn't really think that I'd let you go through this all alone, did you?" Kris inquired as he hugged him tighter.
"You said you had your cousin's wedding." Adam whispered as he embraced him back.
"This is way more important than that. My cousin understands. My family understands." Kris explained.
"You told them?" Adam asked as he backed out of the hug. He wasn't sure if he really wanted everyone to know yet.
"I just told them that you were sick. I didn't go into a lot of detail. I told them that I needed to be here with you." Kris told him.
"You didn't need to do that. I have my mom." Adam stated. He could feel the tears starting to form.
"I wanted to be here with you. You're my best friend, Adam." Kris declared as he reached up and wiped a few tears from Adam's face.
"Thanks." Adam breathed as more tears fell.
"I brought you something to help cheer you up." Kris spoke as he reached for the box he had set down when he came in. "Chocolate cake from that bakery on Fairfax that you like." Kris showed Adam the box with a smile.
Adam smiled back at him. He was still upset, but seeing Kris helped a little. The chocolate cake helped even more.
On Friday, Kris and Leila accompanied Adam to his appointment. Leila was glad that Kris was there. Adam and Kris had been friends for a long time. She knew that Kris would help Adam get through whatever was wrong with him.
The three of them sat in the doctor's office and waited impatiently for him to come in. When he finally came in, he had another doctor with him. Adam's heart sank immediately.
"This is Dr. Angela Martinez-Roberts. I asked her to come in for a consultation." Dr. Patrick Wilde explained.
"It's cancer, isn't it?" Adam asked quietly as he tried not to cry.
"Yes." Dr. Wilde responded.
The tears started to flow freely from Adam's eyes. Leila and Kris both reached over and took one of his hands. Dr. Martinez-Roberts began to explain what kind of cancer he had and what stage he was in. Adam couldn't concentrate on what she was saying. He hoped that his mom and Kris were paying attention.
"We want to schedule you for surgery to remove the majority of the tumor. There are still some smaller cancer cells that we won't be able to remove, so after the surgery you'll have to have a round of chemotherapy. It will kill the remaining cancerous cells in your body." Dr. Martinez-Roberts explained.
Dr. Martinez-Roberts continued to clarify what was going to happen. Adam heard bits and pieces. The word cancer just kept repeating over and over in his head. He felt Kris squeeze his hand. Adam looked over at him. Kris gave him a crooked smile and mouthed the words it will be alright. He could see the unshed tears in Kris' eyes.
~~~

"You don't have to do this." Adam spoke from the doorway of the guest bedroom.

Kris was unpacking his things. After the meeting with the doctors, Kris and Leila had talked. Adam had been there too, but he had been in his own world. Kris had time off. He wanted to move in with Adam and help take care of him while he recovered. Leila had agreed. She was still going to be around to help her son, but she figured that he'd much prefer his best friend over his mother.

"I know I don't have to, but I want to. Adam, you are my best friend. You were there for me when I got divorced and now I'm going to be here for you." Kris told him for the millionth time.

"Thanks." Adam replied quietly.

Adam was scheduled for surgery the next day. That night a few friends came over. Adam tried to be happy, but he cried most of the night. He felt like some of his friends were saying goodbye. He didn't want to say goodbye. He was no where near ready for it to be the end. He had plans…things yet to accomplish…life left to live. Kris stayed close by all evening. He was always there with a reassuring look or touch. Adam remembered why they were best friends and always would be. They knew everything about one another. They could practically read each other's minds.

Adam was slumped in the living room chair when Kris came back in after showing the last guest out. He sat on the arm of the chair and brushed some hair out of Adam's face.

"It's late. You should get some sleep." Kris told him.

"I don't think I'll be able to sleep." Adam admitted.

"I know, but you should try. Come on. I'll tuck you in." Kris responded as he stood up, took Adam's hand and tugged on it.

With a sigh, Adam stood up and allowed Kris to lead the way to his bedroom. Once in his room, Adam went into the bathroom, scrubbed his face, and changed his clothes. Kris was waiting patiently leaning on the dresser when he came out.

Kris pulled the covers down on the bed. Adam climbed into bed and lay on his back. He looked up at Kris and tried to smile

"Try to sleep. Everything is going to be okay. I just know it." Kris declared as he covered him up.

Kris leaned down and gently kissed Adam's forehead. Adam closed his eyes. He felt like a child, but he liked having Kris take care of him. Kris whispered goodnight and started to move away. Adam's hand shot out from under the covers and grabbed his wrist to stop him.

"Please stay with me. I don't want to be alone." Adam pleaded. He could feel the tears in his eyes again.

Kris nodded his head. Adam released his hand. He stripped down to his underwear and crawled into bed with Adam.

"What if…?" Adam started to ask.

"Shh!" Kris breathed as he placed his finger on Adam's mouth. "We aren't going to talk about the what ifs tonight."

Kris moved his finger. He leaned down and chastely kissed Adam's lips. Adam was too shocked to do anything. His best friend had just kissed him and he liked it.

Kris ended the kiss quickly. He lay on his back and opened his arms to Adam. He rolled on his side and snuggled up to Kris. For the first time since he had heard the word cancer, Adam felt like maybe everything would be alright.

~~~
Adam's surgery went well. The surgeon successfully removed the tumor. Kris and Leila were there with Adam when he woke up. They cried together knowing that he was awake and the tumor was gone.
Adam recovered from the surgery and was released from the hospital before he started chemo. He had opted to receive it on an outpatient basis. He wanted to be home not in the hospital.
Kris took Adam to his first chemo session. Dr. Martinez-Roberts explained the probable side effects. Adam wasn't looking forward to any of them.
Kris held Adam's hand and talked to him as the drugs were pumped into his body through an IV. Adam felt fine when he was done. He was hopeful that he wouldn't get the side effects.
Adam and Kris had barely made it in the door of the house when Adam took off for the bathroom. Luckily, there was a bathroom downstairs. Kris followed him. Adam just made it to the toilet before he lost everything that was in his stomach.
Kris frowned. He had hoped that Adam wouldn't get all the side effects as well. He grabbed a wash cloth and wet it with cool water. He dropped down on his knees beside Adam. He was still throwing up. Kris laid the wash cloth on his neck and gently rubbed his back.
When Adam felt the wave of nausea pass, he fell back on his butt and leaned against the wall. Kris took the washcloth and wiped Adam's face. Adam felt worse than he had in his whole life.
"Are you okay?" Do you want me to help you to bed?" Kris quizzed.
"I don't want to move." Adam answered hoarsely.
"Okay…Let's just give it a few minutes." Kris stated as he sat beside him.
Kris wrapped his arm around him. Adam slid down until his head was resting on Kris' chest. He hugged Kris tight and started to cry. Kris just held him and gently ran his fingers through his hair. A few silent tears fell from his eyes.
~~~

"Adam, are you okay in there?" Kris called as he knocked softly on the bathroom door.

"Just leave me alone." Adam replied weakly.

Kris pressed his forehead to the door. Adam had been getting his chemo for a few weeks. The treatments had been making him increasingly sicker. He was moody all the time…depressed most of the time.

"Adam, what's wrong? Talk to me." Kris spoke calmly.

Adam said nothing. Kris continued to brace his hands on the door frame. A few minutes later, the lock on the door clicked and it opened. Kris looked at Adam. He had been crying again. Adam held up his hand and showed Kris the clump of hair he was holding.

"When I woke up, this was on my pillow. Kris my hair is…is falling out." Adam sobbed.

"Adam." Kris whispered reaching out for his hand.

"I fucking hate this!" Adam shouted.

In one angry motion, Adam knocked everything off the bathroom counter. Kris heard items break as they hit the floor. Adam fell to his knees and sobbed. Cautiously, Kris approached him. Sometimes he didn't want anyone to touch him. Sometimes he really did want to be left alone. Other times he just wanted to be held tight.

Kris kneeled down beside Adam and gently touched his shoulder. Adam wailed and flung himself into Kris' arms. Kris just held him as tight as he could. He didn't know what to say to Adam. It was unfair. Adam was a good person. He didn't deserve to have to go through any of this. Kris began to cry as well.

Adam and Kris sat on the bathroom floor and cried for a long time. Adam finally calmed down and backed away from Kris. He wiped the tears from his eyes. Kris did the same.

"I want you to shave it off." Adam told him decisively.

"What?" Kris asked quietly.

"Shave off the rest of my hair." Adam explained as he stood up and looked in the mirror.

"Adam, are you sure?" Kris inquired as he stood beside him.

"If I'm going to lose my hair, I'm going to do it on my terms." Adam stated.

"Alright." Kris conceded.

Kris hated to do it, but he admired Adam for making the decision. Adam took a seat on the lid of the toilet. Kris rummaged around in the cabinet until he found the electric clippers. He plugged them in and turned them on. He looked at Adam who only nodded his head.

Kris carefully ran the clippers over Adam's head. As the hair fell to the floor, a few tears fell from his eyes. When Kris had removed all the long hair from Adam's head, he turned off the electric clippers and retrieved the shaving cream and razor.

"I could just leave it short like this." Kris spoke as he stood in front of Adam with the shaving cream and razor.

"No. Get rid of it all. It's gonna fall out anyway." Adam replied resolutely.

Kris took a deep breath and shook the can of shaving cream. He lathered up Adam's head. Warily, he drug the razor over his scalp. When all the hair was gone, Kris washed Adam's head. Kris bit his lip to stop himself from crying. Adam was gorgeous no matter what, but it was almost too much to see him without his beautiful jet black hair. Adam stood up and studied himself in the mirror. Kris could tell that Adam was really upset.

"I just want to be alone." Adam told Kris as he headed for his bedroom.

Kris followed him. Adam climbed into bed and pulled the covers over himself.

"Please leave." Adam said weakly as he started to cry.

Kris frowned and left the room. He knew that this was one of those times when Adam needed some space.

~~~
"Adam, wake up. I've got presents for you." Kris declared as he entered Adam's bedroom.
Kris had at least half a dozen bags in his hands. He had spent all afternoon shopping for Adam while Leila was with him. When he got back, she informed him that Adam had slept the whole time he was gone. He knew being sick made Adam tired, but he was sleeping more than he was awake these days. It was more than being sick. He was depressed especially since he had shaved off his hair. Kris was hoping the presents would make him feel a little better.
"What kind of presents?" Adam asked quietly.
"You'll have to sit up and see." Kris responded as he set the bags down and turned on the light.
Adam sat up. Kris sat on the edge of the bed and smiled at him. Adam looked down at all the bags. He recognized some of them from shops that he liked in WeHo.
"You went shopping in WeHo…alone?" Adam asked a little nervously.
"No, I wasn't alone. I went with Sutan…actually Raja to get her expert opinion." Kris explained as he reached for one of the bags.
"Oh my God!" Adam laughed loudly. "Please tell me that you were stalked by the paparazzi. I have to see pictures of America's favorite Idol shopping with a drag queen."
"I'm sure that there will be pictures or videos on TMZ or Perez or something." Kris answered with a smile. It was good to hear Adam laugh.
Kris gave Adam the first bag. He stopped laughing and opened it quickly. It was the happiest Kris had seen him in a long time. Adam smiled when he removed the hat from the bag.
"It's very Matt Giraud." Adam declared.
"I thought about that, but there's more." Kris replied with a bright smile.
Kris continued to hand him bags. In each bag, there was a different type and/or style of head covering. There were hats and scarves and bandannas and anything else Kris and Raja had been able to find.
"A cowboy hat? Really Kris?" Adam questioned incredulously.
"I wanted to give you plenty of options." Kris giggled. The cowboy hat had been a last minute purchase. Raja hadn't been with him when he picked that out. He didn't think that Adam would actually wear it, but he was hoping that it would make him laugh or at least smile.
"I think that it's more your style than mine." Adam stated as he placed it on Kris' head. "It'll go great with all that plaid you wear."
Kris smiled and tipped his hat. Adam laughed at him.
"Besides the cowboy hat, do you like your presents?" Kris inquired as he removed the hat.
"They are wonderful. Thank you so much." Adam told him as he reached out for him.
Kris moved closer and hugged Adam. They sat in each other's arms for awhile before Kris finally backed off.
"I want you to know that I don't think that you need any of these things. You shouldn't feel like you need to hide or be self conscious. I just know how much you like to accessorize, so I wanted to get you some nice things." Kris rambled.
"I know. I hate that my hair is gone and it does make me self conscious. I'll feel better going out in public with something on. Plus you're right I love a good accessory." Adam replied with a little giggle.
~~~

"What are you watching?" Adam asked Kris as he entered his room.

Adam was wrapped in the comforter from his bed. He had just had another round of chemo a few days earlier. He was just starting to feel better. Kris looked at him and smiled.

"I don't know…Some zombie movie. I was dozing off more than watching it. How are you feeling?" Kris questioned as he sat up and leaned against the headboard.

"Only slightly nauseous. I haven't thrown up since yesterday so that's good." Adam answered as he moved closer.

"Wanna watch the movie with me?" Kris inquired as he raised the covers in invitation.

"Yeah." Adam responded as he crawled in bed with Kris.

As soon as Adam was in the bed, Kris could tell that he was shivering. He had figured that Adam was cold because he was wrapped in the comforter.

"Come here." Kris commanded softly as he opened his arms for Adam.

Adam smiled at him. He scooted over until he was pressed against Kris. He rested his head on his chest. Kris covered him with his covers and the comforter from Adam's bed.

"Is that better?" Kris inquired as he wrapped his arms around Adam.

"It's perfect. Thanks." Adam replied as he snuggled in more.

Adam and Kris turned their attention to the movie. As they watched, Kris gently rubbed Adam's back.

"Oh God!" Adam exclaimed as he buried his face in Kris' chest.

Kris was a little startled. He had been dozing off again. He looked down at Adam and then at the television screen. A zombie was eating someone's brain.

"Is it over yet? That's so gross. It's really not good for my stomach." Adam muttered into Kris' chest.

"I'll change the channel." Kris replied as he reached for the remote.

Kris quickly began flipping through the channels. Adam turned his head back toward the TV.

"Go back. They're showing repeats of the season when Raja was on RuPaul's Drag Race." Adam declared excitedly.

Kris immediately found the show. He was glad to see Adam excited about something. Kris settled back to watch the show. Adam cuddled back up to him.

"No offense, but some of these drag queens are scarier looking than the zombies." Kris joked.

Adam laughed loudly. Kris smiled brightly. It made him happy to hear Adam laugh. He hoped that it meant he was getting better.

~~~
A few weeks later, Adam, Kris, and Leila sat in Dr. Martinez-Roberts' office. Adam had been off the chemo for a couple of weeks. He was starting to feel better. However, the drugs had taken their toll on him. He was skin and bones. He still felt tired and weak most of the time. His hair wasn't growing back yet.
"I have good news." Dr. Martinez-Roberts declared as she looked at the three people in front of her.
Over the past few months, Dr. Martinez-Roberts had really gotten to know Adam, Kris, and Leila. She was glad that Adam had such good people in his life. In her experience, it made fighting the cancer a lot easier when you had people who loved you.
"Your tests all came back clean. The cancer is gone." Dr. Martinez-Roberts told them with a big smile.
She loved this part of her job when she could tell someone that they were better. Of course, there was always a chance that the cancer could come back. There was also a risk of infection because of his compromised immune system from the chemo. Overall, though Adam appeared to be recovering well.
As soon as they heard the news, Adam, Kris, and Leila started to cry. It was such a relief. They hugged each other and the doctor. Then they cried some more.
~~~

"What are you cooking? It smells delicious in here." Adam stated as he entered the kitchen.

It had been three weeks since the doctor had told him the cancer was gone. Adam still wasn't a hundred percent, but he felt better then he had in months.

Kris stopped what he was doing and looked up at Adam. He smiled brightly.

"You're wearing make-up." Kris declared happily.

"Yeah." Adam responded slowly.

He wore make-up all the time. He wasn't sure why Kris would comment on it or seem so happy about it.

"You look good. It's been awhile since you did your make-up. You must be feeling better." Kris explained when he saw the confusion on Adam's face.

"I am feeling better…And I'm starving…So what are you cooking?" Adam inquired again.

"I just made some chocolate chip cookies. Do you want some?" Kris asked with a smile.

"Of course." Adam replied enthusiastically.

Kris got a plate of cookies and two glasses of milk. They sat at the kitchen table. Adam dunked his cookie in his milk and stuffed it in his mouth.

"I think these are the best chocolate chip cookies that I've ever eaten. Why haven't you ever made them for me before?" Adam questioned as he dunked another cookie.

"For the last few months, you haven't had much of an appetite." Kris answered as he dipped his own cookie in his milk.

"Yeah, but before that." Adam responded.

"No time for baking, I guess. We were both pretty busy." Kris told him.

"Speaking of being busy, you must want to get back to your life…Start working on a new album. I'm doing better. You don't have to stay anymore." Adam said not looking at Kris.

Adam didn't want Kris to leave. He loved having him around. However, he knew that it was time to start getting back to the real world. Kris had a life that didn't revolve around him. He needed to start living it again.

"I know that I don't have to, but I like being here. I mean I'll leave if you want me to, but…" Kris rambled.

Kris couldn't look at Adam. He really didn't want to leave.

"Stay. I like having you here." Adam declared as he reached over and placed his hand over Kris' hand.

Kris looked up at him and smiled. Adam smiled back. Kris thought he saw something in Adam's eyes. He was hoping that maybe Adam was falling for him as much as he had fallen for Adam.

"If you're staying, you have to promise to make me chocolate chips cookies at least once a week." Adam told him with a chuckle.

"You know I can bake more than chocolate chip cookies." Kris spoke with a smile.

"Alright…You have to promise to make me some type of baked good at least once a week then." Adam returned.

"I promise." Kris swore with a bright smile.

Over the next few weeks, Adam and Kris fell into a nice routine. They both started writing music for their new albums. Adam was slowly getting better and coming out of his depression. Kris made them dinner every night and as promised some type of baked good at least once a week. It was usually every other day that he baked something, but he didn't care. It made Adam happy and he was finally gaining back the weight that he had lost. His hair was starting to return as well. It was "peach fuzz" as Adam liked to call it and he still wore something to cover it, but it was coming back and that was a good thing.

~~~
"I'm glad we're doing this." Adam declared as he and Kris walked into the club.
Adam was feeling much better. He was starting to look like his old self again. He still hadn't gained back all the weight and his hair was just starting to grow out, but he felt good. He felt so good that he had decided to gather all his friends together for a night out. He hadn't been out in months. He missed it.
"Me too." Kris stated with a smile.
At the club, they met up with Monte, Tommy, Isaac, Taylor, Terrence, Danielle, Cassidy, Brad, Allison, Alisan, Neil, Cale, and a few other assorted friends. Adam was the life of the party. He was happier than anyone had seen him in a long time.
After being at the club for a few hours, Kris saw Adam talking to some guy at the bar. He felt a pang of jealousy as Adam led the boy onto the dance floor. Kris had suspected for a long time that he was in love with Adam. He had tried to ignore the feelings because Adam was his best friend. However, in the last few months while he had been taking care of him, Kris had realized that he couldn't ignore the feelings. He hadn't had the courage to tell Adam how he felt yet.
Kris watched Adam dance with the guy. He tried to pay attention to what Cale was saying…something about the new album. He couldn't concentrate though.
After a few minutes of dancing, Adam took the guy's hand and led him toward the back. Kris closed his eyes and tried to stop the tears that were threatening to fall. He knew that Adam was taking the boy to the bathroom for a quick hook-up.
~~~

Adam and the boy, Sal stumbled into the bathroom. Sal pushed Adam into the first open stall. Quickly, he shut and locked the door. He pressed Adam into the wall and starting kissing his neck.

Adam leaned his head against the wall. He closed his eyes and moaned. His hands found their way into Sal's hair. It had been a long time since he'd been with someone. Random hook-ups with strangers weren't normally his thing, but he needed a release.

Adam and Sal began to tug at each other's clothing. Adam tried to push Sal against the other wall of the stall. He wouldn't give him the upper hand though. He pressed Adam harder into the wall. Obviously, this boy liked to be in control. Adam wasn't usually into that either, but he decided he could make an exception.

"You're lucky you're famous." Sal muttered as he dropped kisses on Adam's exposed chest.

"What?" Adam asked as he looked down at him.

"It's just that you aren't really my type. I mean I don't usually do half bald skinny guys. I'm making an exception for you because you're Adam fucking Lambert. My friends are never going to believe it." Sal explained as he dropped to his knees and tried to undo Adam's pants.

"Don't." Adam commanded as he pushed Sal's hands away.

"Come on, baby." Sal responded as he reached for his pants again.

"I said don't! Get off me!" Adam shouted as he shoved Sal off of him.

"What's your problem? I thought you wanted your cock sucked." Sal spoke as he looked up at Adam.

"Not anymore." Adam whispered as he unlocked the stall door and rushed out.

"You're making a big mistake. No one else is gonna want you either. You look like hell!" Sal yelled after him.

Adam was furious and sad. He could feel the tears in his eyes. He rushed from the bathroom and headed toward his friends.

"I'm ready to go home, Kris." Adam stated as he walked passed the table and headed for the door.

Adam didn't stop walking, but he saw the concern on his friends' faces.

"What happened?" Kris inquired as he jumped up to follow Adam.

"What did that fucker do to you?" Neil asked his brother as he followed him too.

Adam didn't answer either of them. He just continued to walk. Neil and Kris exchanged a look. Kris was concerned about Adam. Neil looked like he wanted to punch someone in the face.

When they reached the door, Kris followed Adam outside. Neil turned around and went back to the table. He got Monte, Tommy, Terrence, Taylor, and Isaac. They went in search of Sal. They wanted to know what he had done to Adam.

~~~
"Adam, will you please talk to me?" Kris questioned as he followed Adam into his bedroom.
Adam hadn't said a word since they left the club. He had stood in an angry silence as they waited for the valet to bring the car. As Kris drove home, he had remained mute. His anger was fading. Mostly, he was just sad. He wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't come.
"Leave me alone." Adam declared as he went into his bathroom.
He shut the door and locked it. Kris heard the water running. He figured that Adam was taking a shower. He hoped that he'd be ready to talk once he was done.
Kris went to his room and changed his clothes. He was getting angry. He didn't know what that guy had done to Adam, but he wanted to punch him in the face.
Just as he was finishing changing his clothes, he heard his cell phone ring. He picked it up and looked at the screen. It was Tommy.
"Is he okay?" Tommy questioned as soon as Kris answered.
"I don't know. He won't talk to me. He hasn't said a word since we left the club. Now, he's locked himself in the bathroom. He's showering, I think." Kris explained in desperation.
"Shit! Well, we found that guy after you left. I guess he told Adam that he was only going to do him because he was famous. He wasn't attracted to him because he was bald and skinny…that he looked like some cancer patient or something. Neil about punched him when he said that. It took like four of us to hold him back. He settled for calling him a motherfucker as we drug him away." Tommy explained.
"I wish Neil would have punched him. He deserved it. I would have done it if I would have still been there." Kris declared angrily.
"Oh don't worry about him. He got what he deserved. While we were pulling Neil away, the girls came over. They heard everything. Alli punched him in the face. Danielle kneed him in the groin and Alisan stomped on his foot." Tommy told him with a laugh.
"Remind me to never piss the girls off." Kris responded in astonishment.
"Yeah, I know, right. Anyway, we just wanted to see how Adam was. Let him know that we're worried about him and what the girls did…that should make him feel better." Tommy replied.
"I will…if he'll talk to me." Kris spoke sadly.
"Right now, you're probably the only one that he will talk to. Call if you need anything." Tommy commanded.
Kris told Tommy that he would call if he needed anything. He hung up the phone and headed back to Adam's room.
~~~

Adam was done in the shower. He was lying in bed with the covers pulled up to his chin. He was facing away from the door, but Kris knew he wasn't sleeping.

"Do you want to talk about it yet?" Kris asked softly as he entered the room and walked toward the bed.

"I'm stupid and ugly." Adam rasped. He was crying.

"Oh, Adam, no you aren't. You're smart and beautiful. That guy was a jackass." Kris told him as he sat beside him on the bed.

He reached out and touched Adam's shoulder. Adam cried harder. He didn't care what Kris said. He felt stupid and ugly.

Suddenly, Adam sat up and wrapped his arms around Kris. Kris held him tight as he cried onto his shoulder. He ran his hands up and down Adam's back soothingly. He whispered to him about how beautiful he was…how amazing he was.

"Look at me." Kris softly commanded after awhile.

He cupped Adam's face in his hands. He made him look up. Gently, he wiped the tears from Adam's face. Kris smiled at him. Adam tried to smile back.

"You're so beautiful…and I…I love you." Kris stammered before leaning in and capturing Adam's lips in a kiss.

"Kris, don't do this." Adam demanded as he tried to push Kris away from him.

"Adam, don't act like you don't want this. You've wanted this for a long time…since we met." Kris stated as he kissed along Adam's jaw.

"Not like this…Not because you want me to feel better because some jackass treated me badly at a club. I want you to want me as much as I want you." Adam explained as he pushed Kris away again.

"I do want you, Adam." Kris declared taking Adam's hands in his hands. "Believe me these are real feelings. I've been falling in love with you for a long time. I think it started when I met you, but these last few months being here with you…taking care of you, I realized that I am completely head over heels in love with you."

"Really?" Adam asked as his voice cracked.

Tears started sliding down his face. He never thought he'd hear Kris say those words.

"Yes…Let me show you." Kris responded as he leaned in and took Adam's lips for another kiss.

Adam sighed and opened his mouth. Their tongues slid together. Their arms wrapped around one another.

As they made out, Kris ran his hand down Adam's chest. He let it wander further until he rubbed against Adam's erection through his sleep pants. Adam moaned and nipped Kris' bottom lip.

Kris grinned and moved his kisses to Adam's neck. He continued to touch Adam through his pants. Adam moaned and threw his head back. His fingers found Kris' hair and tugged. Kris groaned and smiled against Adam's skin. He loved knowing that he was making Adam feel so good.

"Can I take your shirt off?" Kris inquired in Adam's ear as he licked and nibbled on it.

"Yes." Adam hissed.

Kris smiled as he pulled Adam's shirt up and over his head. He threw the article of clothing on the floor and leaned in to kiss Adam again. As they kissed, Kris' hand roamed his bare chest. Kris broke from Adam's lips and started kissing his neck and chest.

"Why didn't you…? Have you ever…?" Adam muttered.

Adam tried to ask Kris the questions that were swirling around in his head, but the words just wouldn't come. Kris stopped what he was doing and looked at Adam. He knew that he would have questions about all of this and he deserved the answers.

"I've been with guys before." Kris told him honestly.

"You have? Why didn't you ever tell me?" Adam asked trying to keep the hurt from his voice.

"It never seemed like the right time to tell you. There was this guy when I was a teenager…before Katy. When I met you, I was married. I could tell that you were attracted to me. I thought if I told you that I was into guys too, I wouldn't be able to honor the vows that I had made to her. I thought if you knew the truth, you'd seduce me. I didn't know you well enough then to know that you never would have done that. Anyway, after the divorce, I was with a couple guys. I had to keep it quiet. The label thought it would ruin my career. I didn't tell you then because we were best friends and I didn't want to mess that up. I knew that I couldn't be with you…not completely. We would have had to sneak around…pretend that nothing was going on with us. Besides you were seeing someone else." Kris explained as he held Adam's hands.

"We've wasted so much time." Adam whispered as he gently touched Kris' face.

"I realized that when you got sick. I thought about how much I love you and how I should have told you a long time ago. Life is short. I don't want to waste any more time. I want us to be together. I don't care what anyone says. If I lose my career, I don't care because none of it matters without you." Kris declared before leaning in to kiss Adam gently on the lips.

"I love you so much, Kris." Adam stated softly when they broke the kiss.

"I love you too, Adam." Kris whispered with tears in his eyes.

They smiled at each other. In the next instant, their lips were fused together. With everything out in the open, they didn't want to waste any more time. They couldn't get enough of one another.

Adam pulled Kris' shirt off his body. Kris straddled Adam on the bed as they kissed passionately. Kris moved on top of Adam so that their erections rubbed against each other. They both moaned.

"I want you, Adam." Kris declared as he reached down between them to push Adam's pants out of the way.

Once both of their pants were out of the way, Kris rummaged around in the nightstand for the lube. When he found it, he pressed it into Adam's hand. He was still on top of Adam and started kissing his again. Adam did nothing.

"Is something wrong?" Kris questioned as he stopped what he was doing and looked at Adam with worry.

"It's just that it's been so long since I was with someone…And the doctor said that the drugs might affect me for awhile. I want to be with you, Kris; I'm just not sure if I'm up to it." Adam explained sadly.

"You feel like you're up for it." Kris replied as he grasped Adam's cock firmly.

"I just don't know if I can make it good for you. I don't know if I can…" Adam started to say as he felt tears coming to his eyes.

"It's okay. Don't cry." Kris whispered as he cupped Adam's face in his hands.

Adam smiled sadly and leaned into the touch. Kris gently kissed his forehead.

"Let me make it good for you, Adam. Let me inside you." Kris responded softly.

Adam shivered at the thought. He pressed the lube into Kris' hand. Kris smiled and kissed Adam hungrily.

When they broke the kiss, Adam lay down on the bed. Kris kissed his way down Adam's body. Adam nearly came when Kris finally took him in his mouth. Adam gripped the sheets as Kris sucked him. After a few minutes, Adam felt Kris' slick fingers at his entrance. He tensed a little. It had been a really long time since he'd bottomed for anyone.

"Just relax, baby." Kris commanded as he gently pushed one finger inside.

Adam moaned and closed his eyes. Kris took him back into his mouth and worked his finger inside him. As he continued to distract him with his mouth, he slid another finger and then another finger inside him. He moved his fingers and hit just the right spot. Adam felt a tingle throughout his whole body. He shouted Kris' name and came in his mouth. Kris took everything he had to offer before releasing him. He kissed his stomach as he continued to move his fingers inside Adam.

"Kris." Adam breathed as he cupped Kris' cheek with his hand.

Kris smiled and looked up at him. He removed his fingers and nibbled his way up Adam's body. He captured Adam's lips and kissed him deeply.

"Please." Adam pleaded as he reached between them and gently stroked Kris.

"Roll onto your side, baby." Kris demanded as he reached for the lube again.

As Adam rolled onto his side, Kris slicked himself up. When they were both ready, Kris slid behind Adam. Very slowly, he started to push his way inside. Adam started shaking. Kris stopped moving and held Adam tightly.

"Do you want me to stop?" Kris asked in his ear.

"No." Adam declared.

Kris kissed his neck. Adam sighed and closed his eyes. Kris continued to push his way inside. When he was the whole way in, Kris stayed still. He lightly kissed every inch of skin that he could reach. Adam took a few deep breaths before telling Kris to move. Kris put his hand on Adam's face and turned it toward him. He captured his lips in a bruising kiss as he started to move in and out of him. He went slowly at first. He knew that Adam needed time to adjust. Adam gripped the pillow with one hand and Kris' thigh with the other. Kris began to move faster and harder. A few moments later, Kris shuddered and came inside Adam.

Kris stayed where he was. He held Adam tight as they both breathed heavily. After a few minutes, Kris removed himself from Adam. Adam rolled onto his back. They looked into each other's eyes and smiled. Adam strained his neck up and kissed Kris softly.

"I'm so happy." Adam stated as he cupped Kris face in his hands and smiled brightly.

"Me too." Kris replied with a big smile of his own.

Adam and Kris cuddled up together. In no time at all, they were both sound asleep.

When Adam woke up the next morning, he smiled at the memory of the night before. He stretched and reached for Kris. He wasn't there. Adam sat up and looked at the empty space where Kris had been. He frowned. He thought that last night had been amazing. He thought that Kris had wanted him…really wanted to be with him. He wanted to cry thinking that the night before hadn't meant anything to Kris.

"Good…You're awake." Kris declared happily as he entered the bedroom with a tray of food.

Adam looked at him in surprise. Kris smiled at him and placed the tray on the bed. He climbed in beside Adam. Adam felt the tears in his eyes.

"What's wrong, baby?" Kris inquired as he wrapped his arm around Adam.

"When I woke up and you weren't here, I thought that you had left. I thought that you regretted what happened last night. I thought that everything was ruined." Adam told him as a few tears fell and he hung his head.

"I'm not going anywhere. I do not regret last night and nothing is ruined." Kris declared as he made Adam look at him. "I love you." Kris leaned over and kissed him.

"I don't know what I ever did to deserve you, but I'm glad I did it. I love you too, Kris." Adam replied with a bright smile.

"Good. Now let's eat breakfast. We've got a busy day today." Kris told him as he reached for the tray of food. "I made waffles, fresh orange juice, and coffee."

"It looks delicious. Why do we have a busy day today?" Adam asked as he fixed his cup of coffee and Kris poured syrup over the waffles.

"Well, now that we are together, we have a lot of people to tell. I think we should start with your parents and then my parents and then friends and other family members. I don't want to hide. I want the whole world to know that we're together. Honestly, I don't think that very many people will be shocked." Kris explained as he fixed his cup of coffee.

"I don't think people will be surprised either, but are you sure that you're ready for this? No one really knows that you're into guys. There could be some negative backlash. You could mess up your career." Adam told him.

"I think that our family and friends will be supportive…that's all that really matters. You are way more important to me than my career. Besides, I don't think that I'll completely ruin my career by telling everyone that I'm in love with you. I might lose some fans. I might even lose my record deal, but I know that some of the fans will be supportive. They've thought since Idol that we were together. If the label doesn't want to support me, then I'll find a new one that will." Kris enlightened as they began to eat their breakfast.

Adam just smiled at him. He thought about how lucky he was to have Kris in his life. He leaned over and lightly kissed his cheek. Kris smiled at him with a mouth full of food. Adam laughed at him.

Kris had been right. No one was shocked to hear that they were together. Their family and friends had known for a long time that they would get together when the time was right.

With their support, it made it easy to come out to the rest of the world. The label was a little mad that Kris hadn't consulted them before making the announcement, but in the end they didn't drop him. He did lose some fans, but he gained some too. Kris and Adam were shocked by the amount of fan mail that they received. People telling them that they had known since Idol that Kradam was real.

Adam and Kris finished their new albums. They co-wrote a few songs together. They even recorded a duet together. When it was time to tour, they decided to co-headline. They ended the show every night with their duet and a kiss. The crowds went wild every time.
