Farscape #17 solicited
Okay, BOOM! Studios has released their March solicitations, so now I can talk a bit more about issue #17, which was the most fun I've had writing any issue of any of the 42 issues of Farscape I've written to date.
Why? Because the issue teams up Scorpius and Rygel.
Okay, one of my absolute favorite episodes of Farscape is "I-Yensch, You-Yensch," because it has Rygel negotiating with Scorpius for the terms of Crichton boarding the latter's Command Carrier. Those negotiations are interrupted by a hostage crisis in the diner where they're meeting, but what's great about the episode is that it firmly establishes what has been hinted at all along: the smartest person on Moya is Rygel, and it's not even close. There is never a moment in the entire episode when Rygel isn't 100% in control of the situation, which is more than be said for Scorpius, who's no slouch.
So when Rockne's plot overview for "The War for the Uncharted Territories" came in, and I saw that a chunk of it had Rygel and Scorpius teaming up, I practically squeed.
Issue #17 will, I think be a classic in the making. Or you'll all think it sucks and was a waste of a perfectly good 12-issue arc. We'll see......................
