my grandmother died this morning

Jan 10, 2006 09:55

The woman who was always there for me throughout my life, who held my hand even when she couldn't remember my name; the grandmother whose memory warned me away from violence countless times; the woman who had a 50-year love affair with my grandfather that taught me the meaning of romance; today she is dead.

Update: phyxius's entry on the subject.

{{hug}} One is never truly dead until she is forgotten.

Thank you. I'd like to discuss that idea with you sometime, but if I did it here it would sound like I was offended, when I'm actually just grateful for your thoughts.

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing. Grandparents with whom we are fortunate enough to have a meaningful relationship with are very important and sorely missed.

I'm so sorry, Kragen. But I'm glad that you had so much time with her and that she was able to influence you so deeply.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do. I'm in SF now and plan to be in the city tonight as well.

Thank you. I may arrive late in the city, as I have dinner scheduled in Palo Alto. Bea's coming back into town tonight.
