It's nice to hear from someone that isn't delivering hate messages about Ramadan. My brother in law, and sister have to deal with it on a daily basis just because of their last names.
And thanks to your entry, I've learned a little bit more about Islam before I even had to ask my brother in law.
Even though I'm not Islam, I am trying to take steps to show respect for my brother in law while he fasts.
But it's nice to read something other then 'eat more ham' jokes.
I liked your response! It must be nice to have a family that is willing to include you in their celebrations.
I think you sound like you're very respectful and that's what's really the element missing from a lot of these people replying. I'm sure your brother in law and his family truly appreciate your interest in their culture!
thank you for your open mindedness and for your kind words. I hope you and your family have a wonderful month, fasting or not!
Firstly, I didnt expect there was a question re Ramadhan... And as I was browsing through the answers, i was quite uneasy with the comments. Till I randomly clicked to your post and read it.
Thank you for posting this! It's really encouraging. It's my first Ramadan I spend fasting. I'm from Russia and there are few people who fast these days and after reading your story I felt really not alone! Thank you for that and good luck!
