Jazakallah Khair for posting this. It's disgusting and not to mention uncalled for how many rude and disrespectful comments this Writers Block question received.

I'm sure I'm one of the people you're talking about in the beginning of this entry. My post was nothing against the Muslim religion specifically, or about celebrating Ramadan ( ... )

Yours was actually not one of the posts that irritated me! Not that it makes a difference ( ... )

That was really lovely and inspiring to read. Plus! Stuff I didn't know before, about you and the culture. Rock on! :) Way to be amazing, hon.

I don't follow writer's block at all... there were hateful comments? WTF, people are stupid.

I grew up with Muslim friends so I always had some contact with their traditions and beliefs. And now my sister is married to a Muslim and they both celebrate Ramadan, too. Usually during that time of the year when they visit my parents, we have dinner later so that they aren't left out, but nobody else in the family fasts besides my sister and her husband. It's always been something normal for me to have friends who celebrated Ramadan, so I really cannot understand how people can be hateful about something like that!

there were SO MANY disgusting comments. it really made me quite sad!

I like that your family is accommodating! I think that, even though they aren't fasting, it shows respect for those who are.
