Yesterday i went shopping and bought CDs. A few disco compilations from sales (with cool italo stuff like alexander robotnick, Putch 79, Daniel Wang and the likes on it), the new VNV Nation (which, much to my suprise, is available in good record shops in NL now. They did a re-release/re-master like that in the UK about 15 years ago, when I picked up most of their albums...then they did a strange re-issue a few years ago I didn't like the look of as much. Though tbh I already have pretty much everything apart from The Final Cut which didn't really grab me much. It's a Roger Waters solo album in all but name.

For me everything from Meddle to The Wall was their best period. As much as I like Wish You Were Here I think Meddle is personally my favourite, mostly for Echoes. I think it still has a certain rawness to it that I find charming. I like various songs from all those albums so it's hard to pick a favourite one.

Sadly now I don't think they will ever reform. Live8 was as close to it as we'll ever get, I thought they were amazing that night, but if it didn't happen then it certainly won't now. I did see Roger Waters at Glastonbury a few years ago and he did a lot of the band material, quite brilliantly too. I guess that's as close as I'll ever get to seeing them live.
