So... based on the fact that he was arrested for and charged with "aggravated sexual assault on a minor" which, by the way, in IL might happen if your 17-year-old girlfriend's mother doesn't like you, you think he shouldn't be allowed to teach undergraduates? The website doesn't even say he was convicted, so there's no way to know if he even did it.
Actually there is a way to know he did it. He was convicted, served 6 months.
He had sex with a High School student, while he was a teacher at Sullivan High School.
He can no longer teach High School/Elementary School in the United States, due to his conviction. While I understand that sometimes people get accused and tossed to the witch hunt over labels, I do not understand how anyone with a conviction of sexually motivated offense gets put in a position of power over a similar demographic as their original offense. This seems highly negligent.
To my knowledge you don't get placed on that list if you weren't convicted.
Well, that's true, but not based on the information you provided.
I do not understand how anyone with a conviction of sexually motivated offense gets put in a position of power over a similar demographic as their original offense.
So you think that someone convicted of a sexual offense shouldn't be able to ever advance to management in any position ever? That's just silly.
This seems highly negligent.
Bullshit. The whole "sex offender" registry, by the way, is also bullshit and imho unconstitutionally cruel and unusual punishment. If he was sentenced to six months for his crime, and served his sentence, then he's done. No more punishment.
Besides, a key feature of college students is that they are almost always adults.
