the poem was in a silly little book entitled "Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans (2002 edition)"
i'm pretty sure the only requirments for being in it was to have written a poem and paid for postage.
the poem is called The Purple Flower
good luck finding it. i think it's on page 31.
