So now... i was thinking. would it be wrong to clone an animal that we drove to extinction to repopulate it?

hmmm... that is an interesting question. in reality we kinda already do, in that we already interfere so much with the normal reproduction process in breeding programs in zoos and such to insure new animals. it would be a reparation of our mistakes...so it could be a good thing, on the other hand it could be dangerous. would scientists be able to resist changing the animal, making it bigger, better, and therefore not as perfect for the enviroment as it originally was, and hurtin gthe others there?

hmm... see, i was in the field museum in chicago and they have some speciemens of mexican grizzlies. at this point the animal is extint, but when collected they roamed about and were plentiful. And that is when it hit me. We can clone animals now, there is a study of what the bears where like, so it would be possible to bring this animal back.
This however does raise the problem of people trying to make these animals bigger and better and messing up the envirnoment more. However I believe that this would be a very interesting project to see if it is possible.

Use some of the grizzlies that are still around to carry the mexican variety, and then breed them from there. Now, i'm not sure if the area that they lived in would still be available for them to return to. But if nothing else we can make habitats in other areas to replicate their homes.

It raises questions, has ups and downs to it, and i'm just curious as to what others thought of it.
