Ohkay, I'm back on this thing for a little while because I seriously need to go off about something.

I got an industrial bar piercing about a week ago, and it hurts like a motherrr. Before getting it, I'd talked with the guy and he seemed really cool and enthusiastic. I went in last week and he was busy with a tattoo, so he got his friend to do it for me.
Rewind. Over the phone, he'd explained to me that at his shop, he doesn't put in the bar first because it gets really painful and difficult to clean. He said he'd give me two beaded rings until the healing was complete (about 8 weeks he said), then I could come back and he could put in the bar. The whole thing costed $95- $35 each for the piercings and rings and $25 for the bar.
Ohkay, so his friend totally SUCKED. He pierced it, put the bar through, and sent me on my way, without any aftercare instructions or even a smile! I was really confused. And it hurt SO bad while I got it, and it was quite swollen afterward.

Well, I didn't really research it, but Bry and I decided to just clean it with hydrogen peroxide and earcare antiseptic. The guy (now I know his name is Jesse and he was visiting from Seattle) told me to clean it with saline solution, earcare antiseptic, or hydrogen peroxide and don't twist it.. exactly like that. So that's why we did it. It was okay at first, but a few days later, it started to burn and bleed a bit, and it was really unpleasant. And the swelling had gone up.

So I kept trying to call the tattoo company to talk to the guy I'd originally talked to (his name is Brian), and he finally answered one day. He told me to come in the next day so he could switch my bar and check out what was going on - to make sure I didn't have an infection.

I went in, I think it was Tuesday. And he told me that my piercings weren't infected, but I needed to stop using hydrogen peroxide because it was poisoning my ears! When I researched it, I found that was one of the worst things you could use for a new piercing. He cleaned it out, traded the bar for the rings (it was incredibly sore still - especially because of the mild trauma) and was really nice about it. He gave me a bottle of earcare antiseptic and told me to call whenever I had trouble.

I'm really nervous about bothering people though and irritating them, so I'm hesitant to call. It seems to be okay; he said to clean it with antibacterial soap and warm water, which Bry is helping me to do as well. It throbs sometimes, and I take painkillers. I have a stiff left neck because of the damn piercing. My family really doesn't like the piercing.. I hate when I'm face-to-face speaking with them because they don't look at me when they talk to me, but my swollen ugly ear. Yeah, my ear is pretttty swollen yet.. but I hope it goes down really soon. Supposedly, after my research, a lot of people say that it takes about 2 weeks for the swelling and pinkness to go away, but since I used the peroxide, it might prolong that time period. I just want the piercing to heal already. It hurt so bad when I was washing my hair today because I accidentally turned my head and the water pressure was crazy on it, I started crying in the shower and it took an effort to stop. That was the first time I'd cried since I got the thing, and I've got to say, it may be as sore or even more sore than when I had appendicitis.

I just keep thinking how sick it'll look after it's healed. I really hope it doesn't get infected. Blahhhhhhhhh!
