My return home was delayed by Hurricane Dorian but at least our home was spared the storm (unlike the Grand Bahamas). DragonCon 2019 was great. I tried out a new costume this year - Lady Loki. Oh wow! I just went to your profile page to see where in the path of Dorian you were! YIKES! Thank goodness you weren't hit! OMG! Seeing the footage of what happened to the Bahamas overwhelmed me, tears were streaming down my face. I am going to send some money to a charity to help them out, once my inheritance check clears the bank. They need ALL the help they can get and I doubt Trump & Co. will be much help, seeing how they treated poor Puerto Rico, and it's one of our territories. The Bahama's are not. My heart goes out to all of them

DragonCon is one of the shining points in my year. My daughter and I started the pilgrimage in Atlanta years ago and though I still keep space in the hotel room for her and my son-in-law money keeps them away. I didn't think I would see Karl this year because he didn't even have a table the day I saw Marc Singer. It was just by chance that I decided to wander back into the VIP room that last day. I still write naughty fanfics about him and meeting him fueled a few ideas.

I'll have to work on updating my status on LJ if I want to do pictures. I'll work on that.

I'd love to hear Karl speak. I hope he hasn't lost that Kiwi accent, I've heard many older videos of his on YouTube and elsewhere and OMG, that just makes him even sexier. He's one HOT MONSTER!!! LOL! :D

Yeah, I can see how a Con, especially if you stayed a whole weekend, could get really expensive, ( probably even if you don't stay the whole weekend).

I love things like that, but if I am going to spend a lot of money to go out, I'm more likely to go see a concert. I am a music fanatic and never get to go to concerts near as much as I'd like to. One of the reasons why I went so NUTS over seeing the Dave Matthews Band with my daughter for my birthday a week ago. But, I had always wanted to go see them and never had, due to my hubby HATING DMB. So glad my daughter wanted to go. She had just as good of a time as I did.

Glad you missed Dorian (and IT missed your home!) and sooo jealous of you meeting Karl Urban! (and Mark Singer by the way - Beastmaster is still a favourit movie of mine)

The talk with Marc was wonderful. I had to admit to him that I'd originally walked out of my first viewing of the movie but with an explanation. I'd seen Road Warrior shortly before it and wasn't used to that level of gore. He was so nice and completely understood. What a nice guy.

Karl Urban was just the icing on the cake. He had to back out last year and I missed my photo-op with him and this year he was last minute addition and was apparently only there one day. It was just by chance that I decided to do one more walk through the room. So glad I did. Unfortunately he wasn't doing any pictures.
