Well, not the "you'll never fail" but hecka the comparing to other kids thing :/. Drives me absolutely nuts. However, comparing to your sisters is WORSE. SLDKCMLSKDJ. You can't really say "I'm not like them" when you are practically the same :(. Boo.

My parents are the other way around. Apparently, I was some superoverachiever (some psychologist said I was, what a dumbass) who burned out and didn't meet expectations.

They always read all this crap from Shi Jie Ri Bao about people's kids with 50 million APs and perfect SATs and win the Intel Science search and stuff -_-

I'd hardly call not becoming a doctor a failure. 2/3 of the people in California with law degrees never become lawyers... that's how hard that profession is, I'm not sure what it is in med, but same thing.

Oh, Bill Gates dropped out. Of Harvard. And got rich. Filthy rich.

oh. my. gosh. i hate it when they do that. my mom always has to compare me to people. haha it's sooo annoying. even if she doesn't know them. like if she's reading a newspaper and then she sees some smart person, she goes "why can't you be like that???" =[
