idk ... I guess it's just Gary not doing it cause a Gary Oldman fansite confirmed from his manager the film was canceled. *shrugs* Might be canceled just for him.
One more source that just popped up. It was posted on that IMDb thread mentioned on here: "Dominic Monaghan @DomsWildThings @Moffel83 monster butler had finance problems n had to get shelved. It's a common thing in this business. It may happen again." https://twitter.com/DomsWildThings/status/230017280061349888
Looks for real all right. Naturally, I'm inwardly crediting my own letter, but in reality, I know that's unlikely unless a whole bunch of other people expressed the same sentiment. In any case, I really do hope Evanna gets something bigger and better.
Monster Butler shelved due to financial problems.

Hi all, Just a quick note. I was a crew member on the feature Monster Butler and it was shelved due to financial problems after several weeks of pre shoot prep largely because of the naivety and ineptitude of the Canadian production company Dark House Films. The result is that most of the Scottish crew, including myself, are now owed tens of thousands of pounds and some may even have to file for bankruptcy. There is talk that the film may go ahead next year but until the total debt (close to $2M) is paid this seems unlikely.

Thanks for taking the time to post. I hope you and the rest of the crew get the money that's owed you. I also hope that if they go ahead with the film, the scriptwriters make use of mr. Nicol's research. Archibald Hall was a very unreliable narrator, and any film should make that clear. They could do it sort of like Salieri at the end of "Amadeus," except instead of an old guy in a mental institution, Hall was an old guy in prison.
