Busy on-call & other things...

Apr 02, 2007 15:43

Well, the weather is improving and becoming very Spring-like. Hence, the 4-5 hours of on-call in 16 hours of overnight coverage just turned into 12-15 hours of on-call for every 16 hours of overnight coverage.

I got about 2 hours of sleep. Eep!

On-call... )

Thanks! Most people seem to think so too, as well as me which is always an encouraging sign.

They really ought to do front page statistics in the local paper of this sort of thing:

I spent most of my time in the children's ER. It's amazing how when the weather improves we start getting the ATV and bicycle accidents and the number of near drownings go up. Please, if you have children...make them wear the safety gear.

Something to increase public awareness of just how much you need to INSTRUCT your kids on safety when dealing with wheeled vehicles and water.

I'm always amazed at the amount of adults that travel AGAINST TRAFFIC on bikes in the street. Talk about maximizing damage.

I agree. What we mostly come up against is the thought that it cannot possibly happen to me or my kids.

Which is so tragically naive. A friend in my yoga class just lost her 7 yr old nephew. He was riding an ATV and it flipped over on top of him.
