Chicago Vacation!

Apr 09, 2006 01:32

Abbey and I are heading to Chicago next weekend (Thursday night through Sunday afternoonish). I've been there plenty of times, but I've never been to Exit, only Neo. Can anyone tell me which one has the better nights? All my friends (except Chad, maybe) rave about Neo but whenever I go it's been kinda lame. Of course I do have that effect on ( Read more... )

If you are going up go the Clark/Diversey area to go shopping during the day and want a neat place for lunch, check out the Duke of Perth on Clark. It's a great little Scottish Pub with a nice selection of beers, if you are into that sorta thing. :)

yeah, I was hoping to make it to Kenetic but schedule's just didn't work out. Oh, and btw it's not at the Bottom Lounge anymore, since it was torn down or something after the Grendel show there last year.

I also wanted to ask a favor of you -

I have to work in Novi on Thursday, and I was wondering if I could leave my car at your place over the weekend, so I don't have to drive all the way back to Sterling Heights. We're taking Abbey's car, so she could just meet me in Ann Arbor or something like that.

I can also probably leave it at my boss's place in Wixom, or at the office in Novi, but I'd rather leave it with a friend.

Thanks for the info! Like I said earlier, whenever I have gone to Neo, either Friday or Saturday my friends always say "It's never been this bad! This is the worst night I've ever seen here!" That also seems to apply to places in Toronto, NYC, LA, Philly, or wherever. I think I have a curse that leads to slow club nights.

As for the food, recommend away. We've got some money to spend and both Abbey and I like nice restraunts (I'm even bringing my fancy clothes!).

Marche is absolutely beautiful. The food was good, though Veggie choices are somewhat limited, they attempted to be as accomodating as possible. You can look at the pictures but I don't think they give a real idea of the atmosphere. It's sooooo bright and colorful. Umbrellas hanging down all over from the ceiling. You can see the chefs as they cook. The bathrooms are wow! When we were there we had a small problem with service at first. Somehow they lost track of us in their seating and we had to talk to them about it, however, after that they absolutely made up for the mistake with great service and food. On their site they have some pictures of some Marche Events. I didn't see anything like that going on, but I bet it would have been rather entertaining if they had.

The other place is a new Sushi place called Agami has opened in Uptown. The decor, again is amazing. Designed to make the guest feel like a fish in a tank, it seems odd but the colors, lighting, and features all do it well. There's a lot of eyecandy and it's ( ... )
