Computer type question for those with smarts

Dec 04, 2006 20:00

Is there anyway to adjust some settings on my computer so I can burn CDs AND listen to MP3s/stream audio/internet radio/whatever at the same time. I'm on a 1.66Ghz Centrino Dou with 1GB of RAM if that helps anyone....

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to do that already. What leads you to believe that you can't?

I *can* but the audio is all skippy and lagging when I'm burning CDs.

1) What apps are you using to do this?

2) What type of file are you burning the CDs from?

1) I'm using Nero 6.6 to burn and winamp 5.32
2) I'm burning audio CDs from MP3 files

Shutting off visualizations is a good idea, worst case scenario you can make sure your hard drive and CD-ROM drive are on different IDE channels instead of master/slave on the same channel. If that doesn't work, you can burn at a lower speed.

Oops, just realized you're talking about a laptop, so ignore the IDE bit.
