Personally, I'd go for Boston. Great proximity to NYC, and it seems like their music scene, meaning bands coming from there, are really booming. I think it'd be great to be there as it happens.

Perhaps Im a bit biased but I love Boston, I live 45 minutes a way and it is all around a great city. I also really like Denver,it's clean. Central Jersey while close to NYC and Philly couldn't be too horrible, my experiences there consist of lots and lots of white trash though.

pittsburg is a shithole just like detroit, a declining industrialized shell of a city. that being said, i do like the city. i know quite a few people there and there is actually a decent art/music scene. i also know a few people who have recently moved to denver and love it, i find this odd as there doesn't seem to be much to do in colorado. my advice - the farther west you can go, the better. whatever you do, stay the hell out of the south.
